Gain Access to More Than 20 Travel Apps with SMART’s RoamFree

I was recently invited to visit Ocean Park Hong Kong to have a glimpse of their new rides and Christmas season food offerings. It has been a habit of mine to purchase Smart Surf Abroad data package before leaving the country, but I purposely did not subscribe to one this time to try out SMART’s recently released RoamFree application… and I am very happy to say that it works like a charm.

Just like what the name of the mobile application suggests, RoamFree enables users to access selected websites or applications for free—and this is very handy for travelers like me.

I was not able to try the application until we left Ocean Park Hong Kong since the park is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, but I was able to see its effectiveness when we proceeded to the city center for dinner. After having our very satiating meal, I was able to try some of my favorite travel services, like Google Maps and Uber, to get back to our hotel, just with the RoamFree app!

The Internet access speed is fairly good, and the best thing about it all is that it’s free. That means no expensive international data charges. The application gives free access to 21 applications. These include accommodation booking apps Agoda, Booking, and AirBnB, Not sure where to go? Find your way across the metro with Uber and Google Maps, just like what I did.

Looking for a Place to Stay? Visit Agoda for a wide range of accommodation options with great hotel deals and best price guarantee.

It is also very cool how Google Translate and apps like XE Currency Converter and ATM Finder are also made free. The other applications you can access with RoamFree are PassnFly, Musement, Meetup.com, Klook, Tiqets, Groupon, KeyFlow, Viator, TripAdvisor, and Triip. Even getting food delivered at your chosen accommodation is possible with Foodpanda, OpenTable, and TheFork.

I can’t stress how beneficial this is for travelers. It greatly helps in lessening data package costs. The application is currently available in 26 international destinations, which are the following: Albania, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Vietnam.
