Starbucks is complementing its signature Espresso Roast with two sophisticated flavors: Okinawa brown sugar and salted caramel. These ingredients are expertly crafted into different beverages.

Starting January 9, the coffee brand mixes one of the most popular culinary ingredients in Japan, the Okinawa Brown Sugar, to create the new Okinawa Brown Sugar Latté. This elegant drink emphasizes the taste of molasses in the sugar as it combines with light caramel resulting in a less sweet, coffee forward drink.

Another returning favorite, the Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble, combines espresso flavors and deep chocolate with toffee nut syrup and layered with a delectable combination of whipped cream and caramel sauce. This drink is topped with a blend of sea salt and turbinado sugar for that perfect sweet and savory taste.

The head of marketing for Starbucks Philippines, Keith Cole, said, “We love to constantly surprise our customers with new flavor combinations. This season’s beverages complement our signature Starbucks Espresso and whisks in premium ingredients, like Okinawa brown sugar from Japan, for a modern twist.”

Treat for the New Year

Other than the double flavor innovations, Starbucks also gives a hint of what 2018 has to offer.

The adorable and collectible barista bear has two new looks for the next season. The 20th Anniversary Bearista Bear dons the classic black apron with Starbucks Philippines’ 20th-anniversary logo. The Bearista Bear also wears a Philippine Flag inspired Frappuccino® pin. To prepare for the Lunar New Year, a Bearista Bear Dog will also be released.
