Tacloban City, Philippines — The Department of Tourism – Region 8 has given the 4-star rating to The Oriental Hotel Leyte, the first in Eastern Visayas, at a recent assembly of private and public stakeholders in the region. The property was given the rating based on the 741 accumulated points due to the third-party auditor’s assessment of premium accreditation and the DOT’s Central Office and Region 8 Office.

About The Oriental Leyte Hotel

Situated beside the MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park in Palo town, it is part of The Oriental Hotels and Resorts, the leisure arm of the LKY Group of Companies, which also has two properties in Legazpi City, one in Bataan, and a luxury suites mansion in Tagaytay City. It was opened in 2012, damaged by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013, and was reopened in 2016. Its facilities and amenities include 129 rooms, 8 suites, 13 function rooms, 5 videoke rooms, 2 food and beverage outlets, a business center, a fitness gym, 3 swimming pools, and a spa.

The Oriental Leyte will give you easy access to Samar’s San Juan by the Bay Boardwalk and Floating Restaurant. A 15-minute scenic walk on a bamboo bridge will take you to the floating restaurant where, beyond a unique dining experience, you can enjoy activities like kayaking and swimming.

Have a dose of sand, sea, and sun just two hours away from the hotel. Untouched by popularity, Kalanggaman Island retains its beauty as officials only allow a maximum of 500 tourists a day. Enjoy beach camping or walking on its stunning sand bar when you visit.

Themed with Asian and Filipino motifs, it offers Oriental and international cuisine, evening fire dance and entertainment shows, barrio fiesta dinners, tour services around Leyte and Samar provinces, and butler service on demand.
