New Marriott “bleisure” hub opens in Mactan
Business and leisure travelers now have an appealing new destination in Cebu, thanks to the recent opening of the Mahi Center, a vibrant hub that caters to diverse needs. Complementing this is the newly launched Fairfield by Marriott, situated on the historic resort island of Mactan, known for its pristine beaches, rich cultural heritage, and stunning ocean vistas. Together, these developments enhance Cebu’s reputation as a premier travel destination, offering visitors comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm.

Fairfield’s artsy Lobby Lounge
The 7,600-square-meter integrated hotel complex is the newest project by Cebu-based developer AppleOne Properties Inc., combining a mixed-use lifestyle mall with a 196-room, nine-story boutique business hotel.
Mahi Center, a registered locator within the Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ), is a five-level tower that includes three levels of retail space and offers a total of 34,000 sq m of leasable area for corporate offices and business process outsourcing.
As the country’s first mixed-use Marriott property, it offers a variety of dining options, a supermarket, retail stores, and various shops serving the daily needs of business travelers, executives, and workers within the MEZ.
It also has an atrium activity center for public entertainment and socio-civic events
Meanwhile, Fairfield by Marriott is a franchised midscale segment of Marriott International, offering fewer amenities and often rated at 3.5 stars.
Known as the most modern hotel close to Mactan-Cebu International Airport, it features three meeting rooms, a mid-sized event space suitable for both business and leisure guests, and the Davos all-day dining restaurant, which offers delicious local and international dishes alongside a panoramic view of the Mactan Channel.

Its strategic location and amenities make it an ideal venue for meetings, corporate events, and even fly-and-meet conferences.
Fairfield offers the Standard and Deluxe room types, both featuring Japanese-inspired Zen designs and country motifs.

The fourth-floor outdoor area is perfect for hosting events, serving cocktails, or displaying exhibits. Additional amenities include a grab-and-go convenience store, on-site laundry services, and a fitness center.
Located only a few minutes from the historic Mactan Shrine and the sandy beaches of Lapu-Lapu City, Fairfield also offers tour activities for guests to experience Cebu’s culture, adventure, and attractions.

AppleOne Group president and CEO Ray Go Manigsaca states that the Mahi Center exemplifies their commitment to supporting Mactan’s ongoing development as a hub for tourism, travel, business, and residential purposes.
Mahi Center draws inspiration from an old Visayan word that describes something rare—more than just beautiful, it embodies perfection with an effortless and genuine feel. In Indian mythology, she represents the earth goddess who protects and nurtures the land.
Manigsaca mentioned that the recent project is one of the results of their long-standing partnership with Marriott International.

The Cebu developer partnered with a prestigious Maryland-based conglomerate in 2022, opening the Sheraton Mactan Resort and the luxury medium-rise The Residences.
In 2023, it also laid the foundation for the 7-hectare JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort & Spa and JW Marriott Residences, marking the first presence of a global hotel brand on the popular resort island of Bohol.
Founded in 2009, AppleOne Group proudly expands its portfolio across global brand hospitality, real estate, construction aggregates, and medical care via its subsidiary, AppleOne Medical Group.
