One thing I know for sure is that sometimes you have to treat yourself to something special coz It just makes everything that you do worthwhile. One special treat I had was a RWS visit courtesy of Singapore Tourism Board when they invited me to visit Singapore the second time around. The sweetest treat? It’s a wonderful dinner @ Baits in Resorts World Sentosa.
Singapore Chicken Rice
I love Resorts World Sentosa because it’s a place where I know I can find everything I am looking for. Whether it’s shopping, a little bit of casino, dinner, relaxation by the pools, great lounges, and yes, fantastic themed restaurants too. Still, a treat should offer you something more than an everyday experience, even if that experience is awesome in itself.
Chefs at Work
Dinner at Baits is a treat that brings the culinary masterpieces and traditions of Singapore cuisine all into one place. While this is local food, it’s also a lot more. One advantage of an upscale place like Baits is that you don’t have to deal with the massive crowds and you have a menu that not only offers an amazing variety of seafoods, but also gives you the choice of plenty of rice dishes, meat, poultry, and more than a little bit of spice. Take for example Baits Singapore Style Chicken Rice that I had that night, It’s not just another plate of the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice, it’s a mouth treasure.
Things are not your typical Michelin rated ambiance inside either. With a casual but professional staff, plenty of mannequins gracing the place (tourist bait?) and a wine list that will satisfy the snobbiest wine lover, you get a different feel when you go in Baits, which, for me, is also part of the Singapore experience overall.
Xiao Long Bao
Have some Xiao Long Bao while you watch the chefs working their magic in the open kitchen and don’t forget to ask their soup of the day. Odd names, but delicious food. Resorts World Sentosa itself could have been my treat, but when I go to Baits, I feel like I’ve really done something special.
Sometimes it’s a much needed day off, sometimes it’s a night out on the town, and sometimes, when I’m in Singapore, I treat myself to an amazing dinner at Baits in the heart of Resorts World Sentosa.
So, what did I do to deserve such a great treat? You might guess that I climbed a mountain, did some wind surfing, or even made a big business deal, but those guesses would be wrong. My success story was just that I had managed to make it back to Singapore and found my way back to Resorts World Sentosa. That’s it. Who says you have to do something difficult to deserve a great reward?
