1. Puerto Galera

Puerto Galera is perfect for a relaxed and fun time at the beach. In more or less 4 hours, you can reach this place by Bus to Batangas Port and then by boat to Puerto Galera. Easy to access as it’s near the Manila Bay, Corregidor Island has historical landmarks and exciting history to explore. Corregidor and the other fortified islands of Manila Bay fall under the jurisdiction of the City of Cavite, Cavite province. Corregidor, also known as “The Rock” for its rocky landscape and the heavy fortifications, along with Caballo Island, about 1.7 km (1.1 mi) south, divide the entrance of Manila Bay into the North and South Channel.

10. Shooting the rapids in Pagsanjan Laguna

Book at tour to see the Pagsanjan falls by boat. You don’t have to go over the falls in the boat, don’t worry, but the rapids are exciting enough. The falls can also be reached from the top by a short hike from Cavinti Laguna. The boat ride has been an attraction since the Spanish Colonial Era with the oldest written account in 1894. The town of Pagsanjan lies at the confluence of two rivers, the Balanac River and the Bumbungan River (also known as the Pagsanjan River).

12. Rediscover Matabungkay Beach

Maybe you’ve fought of Matabungkay Beach as a tourist destination, but it’s time to remember how much fun it is to be a tourist in a well-maintained, beautifully decorated, and made-to-be-fun resort on the beach. Matabungkay Beach is in located in Lian Batangas. It has a light gray sand beach reasonably accessible to Manila 120 kilometres (75 mi) that was originally ‘discovered’ to be a great weekend or daytrip destination in the early 1950s, allegedly by sun starved German residents of Manila. In fact the German Club had a cottage there then. It was soon a popular target for holiday-lovers and permanent cottages (even deluxe beach houses) were built along the beach line (and some into the beach) in the early 1960s by rich Manila folk.

Try out the local Filipino cuisine, from fine dining to street food, as well as international and fusion foods that are delightful and carefully crafted. Definitely go to Ketchup and Volante for an outdoor meal. And the cinnamon twists at Dane’s Bakery are outrageously good.
