Lalamove Philippines celebrates everyday road heroes with fuel assistance, inspiring stories, and a special video series for National Heroes Day.
MANILA, Philippines — Every day, drivers and riders navigate busy roads, rising fuel costs, and long hours to keep people, parcels, and businesses moving. For many, the road is not simply a workplace—it is also a way to support their families and build a better future.

The heroes who deliver
This National Heroes Day, Lalamove Philippines is recognizing these everyday road heroes through its annual Heroes Behind the Wheel campaign, providing 15 partner drivers with six months of fuel support.
Each of the 15 selected drivers will receive a PHP 10,000 monthly fuel allowance for six months, delivered through a Petron E-Fuel Card. The program is designed to provide practical, ongoing assistance amid fluctuating fuel prices and the rising cost of everyday living.
Rather than a one-time reward, the monthly allowance provides ongoing support that can help ease one of the biggest recurring expenses for drivers.
Celebrating the Stories Behind the Wheel
Now in its second year in the Philippines, Heroes Behind the Wheel gives Lalamove partner drivers an opportunity to share the stories, challenges, and experiences that define life on the road.
More than 1,000 drivers submitted their stories for this year’s campaign, highlighting the many different reasons people choose to drive and the important role they play in their communities.
Six of the 15 winners with particularly inspiring stories will also have their experiences featured in special vlog episodes. Content creators Charuth and JB Suarez will join the drivers on their adventures, adding humor and personality while giving audiences a closer look at their lives beyond the driver’s seat.
The featured drivers are:
- Bernadeth Alcantara, the only female 600kg driver on the platform.
- Samantha Althea Rabara, who drives an L300 part-time while pursuing a criminology degree.
- Jay-R Villanueva, a licensed teacher currently waiting for a permanent teaching position.
- Jeffrey Pardillo, who takes on long-distance trips that many city drivers choose to avoid.
- Nicolai Karangalan, known among customers for delivering cargo safely and intact.
- Arl Iverson Villanueva, a former fast-food worker, remembers deliveries of medicine for sick pets and patients as among his most meaningful trips.
Together, their stories offer a glimpse into the determination and resilience that often go unseen behind everyday deliveries and rides.
More Than Just a Reward
The fuel allowance forms part of Lalamove’s broader efforts to support its partner drivers and riders.
Through the platform, partners can accept delivery and ride bookings using a single app and cash out their earnings weekly. Incentives and rewards can also provide additional opportunities to increase their income.
For drivers who spend much of their working day on the road, practical support such as fuel assistance can make a meaningful difference to their daily earnings and household budgets.
“We want to support our partner drivers’ earnings so that they can provide for their families, especially now, when the cost of living keeps rising,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines. “We want them to have steady support they can count on. They are the ones who make sure a passenger or a customer’s delivery arrives on time and safely, day in and day out, and they deserve to be recognized for it.”
Everyday Heroes on the Road
National Heroes Day is traditionally a time to remember Filipinos who made sacrifices for others. For Lalamove, the occasion is also an opportunity to recognize people whose contributions may not always make headlines but remain essential to everyday life.
A driver delivering medicine, transporting an important package, completing a long-distance trip, or helping a customer get from one place to another can make a difference in someone’s day.
These moments may appear ordinary, but collectively they help connect families, businesses, communities, and customers across the country.
Through Heroes Behind the Wheel, Lalamove aims to spotlight the people behind those journeys and deliveries—and the stories that make their work meaningful.
