Here’s What The New Year Is Sending Every Mobile Phone Users And Travelers In The Country
Three government agencies NTC (National Telecommunications Commission), DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) and DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) approved the prepaid card load validity period for up to one year under Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 05-12-2017 and this took effect yesterday, January 5, 2018.
In particular, Smart, TNT and Sun prepaid loads worth P300 and above shall moving forward have a one-year validity, regardless of the validity period printed on the physical cards already out in the market while php300 and below load cards expiry date will take effect on July 5, 2018.

All physical cards that are already out on the market are also included in the newly approved circular. This will benefit many small and medium entrepreneurs like load retailers since the shelf life of the prepaid cards are longer and waste of investment will likely be avoided. This is also good news for all mobile phone users and travelers who often times carry a prepaid card with them.
Through this circular, mobile users have more time to use their prepaid cards without having any stress that their expiry dates are happening soon or that it already happened. Since Filipinos are avid mobile phones users, it’s such a positive start for the New Year that everybody’s given prolonged expiry dates.
Mobile users are now allowed to enjoy more benefits of the approved circular and the same goes for travelers. In case you’re out of town or out of the country, you have more peace of mind in terms of your call and text usage and how long it will last. You won’t suddenly get all tensed up thinking you forgot to load on time or that you need to be using your call or text credits by now.

It saves you time and many trips to the loading store but most of all it saves you money. Through this, users of prepaid cards can sit back, relax and let the telecommunications companies do their work.
