Saturday Tapas Nights at Dos Mestizos
It has been a long tradition in Boracay to celebrate Saturday Nights with a fun dose of Spanish culture at Dos Mestizos Spanish Restaurant.
Dos Mestizos Spanish Restaurant co-founder Binggoy Remedios ingeniously celebrated this ever-bubbly evening in honor of Spain’s culinary customs since more than a decade ago when the second Dos Mestizos Restaurant opened on its current location, following its first conception on the island’s Station 1 area with the other mestizo, Jose Ramon Nieto many years back.
Saturday Tapas Nights hereby showcases authentic Spanish dishes, mostly highlighted by well-loved appetizers like Salpicao de Vaca (beef cubes in garlic marinade), Albondigas (beef meatballs in tomato), Ensalada de Pulpo (octopus marinated in olive oil, chili and citrus), Pate de Pollo (duck fat sealed chicken liver), Tortilla de Patatas (Spanish Potato Omelet), Bacalao ala Vizcaina (dried salted cod fish in tomato sauce), Salpicao de Pescado (fresh fish cubes in garlic marinade), Jamon Manchego Platter (Jamon Serrano, Queso Manchego and olives in vinegar), Almejas en Vino Blanco (Aklan clams in white wine), Baked Oysters al Espagnola (Jamon, Bechamel, Arugula and parmesan), and more.
Dynamic head Chef Malarky rotates a variety of these appetizing delicacies every week to continue tantalizing the palates of regular diners and traveling guests.
Even as early as 630pm, guests can already partake of the restaurant’s delicious offering of Tapas buffet, matched with a basket of its gourmet breads, freshly baked from its own commissary.
As in Spanish tradition, the delightful concoction of Sangria served in a clay carafe complements the palate and even heightens one’s spirit in full appreciation of Dos Mestizos’ Spanish scenery, which is not only harmonized by beautiful Spanish songs playing in the background, but also by live acoustic performances rendered by multi-talented local musicians.
While Dos Mestizos considers dining as a form of art, as well as a significant occasion to enjoy, they ensure wonderful service, tasteful interiors and a homely dining setup to guarantee guests with a pleasurable mood and a gratifying ambience to complete their dinner celebration in Boracay Island.
There is also the Bodega where guests can have a more intimate tapas gathering with their group and enjoy wine from the restaurant’s top wine selection.
So when you are holidaying in Boracay over the weekend, make sure to spend your Saturday evenings at Dos Mestizos Spanish Restaurant to experience the famous Saturday Tapas Nights.
