It’s going to be a colorful sky fest of hot air balloons as the 21st Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2017 kicks off at Clark, Pampanga. This yearly event will be celebrated from February 9 to 12, each day packed with sky high and ground based activities designed for all members of the family. A popular event, the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is known for drawing in thousands of spectators and participants, both domestic and foreign alike.

Hot Air Balloon Ticket holders can enjoy the location, partake of the food, and take as many selfies as they want. There are also booths for Oculus Archery, Zoocobia, and a chance to fly your own kites.

Those who signed up for other activities such as paragliding and skydiving will be given the opportunity to make use of their tickets. Other visual sky activities include dancing kites, radio-controlled aircrafts, more.

How to get to the 2017 Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Venue?

  • Starting from Metro Manila, guests are advised to take the bus going north and get off at Pampanga, Dau Terminal, Mabalacat. You may choose from different common carriers such as Victory Line and Philtranco. The fare is PHP200.
  • From Dau, you can ride a jeepney that will take you to the Clark Main Gate which should cost just PHP8.
  • From the Main Gate, you can take another jeepney to the main site for PHP10.

You can also hire a private car which can take you directly to the site. The drive will take about 1.5 hours. Here’s how to get there:

  • Drive on the North Luzon Expressway
  • Exit at Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga.
  • Take a left turn to Angeles City
  • Take a right turn to Clark Zone

Where to Park Private Vehicles?

The event coordinators will provide ample space for private car parking. Those who will bring their private cars are advised to make sure that the car is locked and that no valuables are kept inside. Please take note of where you parked your car as the space can be filled up after a few hours. Arriving early will give you the chance to pick the best parking spaces.

Where to stay in Clark Pampanga (or near Clark) during the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival 2017?

There are numerous hotels available near Clark where you can stay. Since the tickets are on a per-day basis, individuals can make a round trip for the event. If you really want to enjoy the Festival, however, it would be best to spend the night in Clark. Some hotels you can check out include the Midori Clark Hotel, Central Park Tower Resort and Widus Resort and Casino. Please reserve room weeks in advance since the rooms may be filled to capacity nearing the day of the event.

Can we camp at the Hot Air Balloon Site?

Camping is not allowed within the area. All guests are advised to seek accommodations in nearby hotels or pension houses.

Classic sisig is relatively simple, being made of minced pig face meat and ears, then doused in vinegar and calamansi juice. The dish is similar to ceviche/ (kinilaw).

What kind of security is offered?

Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2017 is a well secured event with sufficient personnel tasked to make sure that spectators are given ample protection. Authorities are on standby to ensure that the balloon flights and other activities are done safely to guarantee everyone’s enjoyment. However, guests should be prepared for an inspection each time they enter the gate. At the same time, viewers are advised to keep their valuables close at all times.

Can I bring drones?

No. Drones are not allowed at the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2017. The area is an active airfield and, thus, drones are not allowed for safety and security purposes. Hoverboards are also not allowed within the gates.
