Angeles City – a place so familiar to many, yet most of its treasures remain undiscovered. While the place is famous for its red light district and the no-fail favorite sizzling sisig, I came to realize that there’s more to Angeles city than what most people know. My 3-day stay in this interesting place can attest to that.
City of Culture
Beyond the flickering city lights of this modern metropolis lies a profound history and rich culture. The Museo Ning Angeles, Bale-Balayan, Pamintuan Mansion, and the Holy Rosary Parish Church are some of the existing testaments to the heritage and culture deeply rooted in the veins of Angeles.

Home of Festivities
Locals love to gather, celebrate and have fun. No wonder they have a month-long celebration of various fiestas. Enjoy Fiestang Kuliat, do the Bagius dance, be amazed with giant lanterns at Lubenas Ning Pascu, or party the night away at Tigtigan Terakan Kengdalan – the festivities are endless.
The Culinary Capital
There’s no denying that Angeles City is home to the best local dishes and cuisines. First off, it’s where the famous sizzling sisig came from. The people take pride in having several varieties – pork, chicken, kamaru (cricket) and balut, to name a few. But it’s not just about sisig. The city offers an exciting and extensive array of homegrown and international restaurants that feature mouth-watering dishes and sumptuous cuisines worth trying.

The Adventurous Trail
Adrenaline junkies, rejoice! There’s a wide range of daytime thrills and activities that await tourists in the city – from trekking Mt. Pinatubo and riding a 4WD to Sapangbato Hot Spring down to flying an ultra light aircraft, drag racing, bowling and wakeboarding. Simply put, boredom is not allowed in Angeles.

Center of Comfort
The people of Angeles are some of the most accommodating bunch I’ve ever met. Experience their unique and modern take on Filipino hospitality by staying at its superb hotels and accommodations, or getting some rest and relaxation at the many spa and beauty centers in the area.

Indeed, there’s no better way to discover a place than to experience it first hand. I was pretty surprised at how culturally driven, gastronomic, exciting and diverse the city of Angeles is. This melting pot of all things interesting is worth exploring.
