Philippines: Home of Concert Venues
Philippines is now considered to be a music hub with big artists starting to visit the Philippines.
Our country is not only known with its breathtaking destinations and rich culture, but we are also home to notable concert venues too.
Because of an overwhelming talents visiting the country, various concert venues are also flourishing – namely Araneta Coliseum, Mall of Asia Arena, and Kia Theatre.
Smart Araneta Coliseum
Araneta Coliseum or popularly known as The Big Dome is one of the largest indoor arena in Asia. This venue is mostly used for sports such as basketball. Before, it was even a place for cockfighting and boxing. The most notable event that was held here was when the coliseum opened on March 16, 1960, with Gabriel “Flash” Elorde boxing for the World Junior Lightweight crown against Harold Gomes. General admission then was 80 centavos and the reserve section was five pesos.
It boasts a diameter of 108 meters and has floor area of 23,000 square meters. In 1999, the coliseum underwent its first major renovation at the cost of P200 million.
Inside, there’s impressive murals and posters of the previous concerts that was held there. There is also a food stalls inside so guests inside wouldn’t mind going out to get some food.

Mall of Asia Arena
The architectural design is obviously the shape of an eye. This venue take pride on its world-class amenities and top-notch entertainment as well.
It spans a land area of 64,085 square meters and can accommodate 20,000 people. This five-level ultramodern events venue also boasts of Robbins floorings, eight-sided, center-hung scoreboards by Daktroniks, retractable Spalding basketball goals and LED ribbon boards—all of NBA standards. CCTV cameras will be provided by Mobotix, the same company that equips the Vatican Apostolic Library at the Vatican with professional-grade, high-resolution security devices. There are also 10 elevators available in the premises and special access lanes for PWDs.
Also, there are room exclusive for press conferences, and even a special area for meet-and-greet-affairs.

Kia Theatre
Don’t let this small venue fool you. Kia Theatre is one of the country’s premiere performing arts venue can pack up to 2,385 viewers. The venue also features al-fresco dining restaurants, coffee shops and other top retail brands along its perimeter.
This is also home to Filipino thespians and aspiring ones too.
