Taste the Best Coffee in Italy at the New illy Caffè Branch in One of Makati’s Most Active Business Hubs

The premium coffee brand of Italy, illy Caffè has added yet another location at one of Makati’s most active business hubs, Paseo Center. The newest addition to the growing number of the cafe’s branches is further enhanced with an addition of modern and classic Italian dishes and pastries to the menu.

The company, illycaffè, has 85 years of experience as the brand leader in top quality Italian coffee. Founded in 1933 and based in Trieste, Italy, illycaffè produces and markets only one blend of high-quality coffee worldwide.

Aptly named “illy”, it is made of nine kinds of pure Arabica.

The grand opening festivities of the illy Caffè gave us a glimpse of what the Italian coffee culture is all about. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the General Manager of illy for Asia-Pacific, Andrew Nathan as well as the Italian Ambassador to the Philippines, Giorgio Guglielmino, were present.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a talk on coffee appreciation as well as a tasting event spearheaded by globally renowned master barista trainer Fabrizio Aquè.

Fabrizio is a graduate of illy’s very own Università del Caffè or the University of Coffee. He is also now responsible for training budding baristas in their eight branches across the Asia Pacific. The facility boasts as a center of excellence as it aims to enhance and spread the culture of coffee by offering theoretical as well as practical training on all coffee-related matters to bartenders, cultivators, and enthusiasts.

Other than coffee tasting, we were served with a delicious selection of items from illy Caffè’s own Food Collection menu which represents the Italian cooking heritage.
