Rico’s Lechon Opens Its Newest Branch in Tiendesitas

Just in time for the holidays, everyone.

Rico’s Lechon finally opens a store nearer to the east and to the north of Metro Manila. Starting October 26, Friday, the popular Cebuano Lechon house will now cater to the hungry hordes living in Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and Kyusi. The store is located at the 1st level, Food Village Building B of Tiendesitas, Pasig, and is touted as their biggest branch in Metro Manila so far.

We recently attended a media preview of the store, and it was indeed expansive. The newest branch has a whopping 733 square-meter space, which can hold up to 300 hungry customers. The restaurant also has seven VIP rooms, named after a variety of districts in Cebu.

The interiors resemble the design of the two others Rico’s Lechon branches in Manila, with its tropical theme and flourishes of wooden furnishings. The most notable part of the store is, of course, the Roasting Pit – sure to be an attraction for guests and mall-goers alike; the pit can hold up to twenty full-size lechons.

There’s also a chopping station, enclosed all in glass, inside the restaurant. Guests can watch and slaver over steaming pieces of lechon, all while being chopped and divided into portions for the hungry customers inside. There’s also a separate take-out counter at the branch, for guests who want to enjoy their Lechon at home.

At the media preview, guests got to try the newest additions to the Rico’s Lechon menu as well. There’s Lechon Kare Kare, Beef Tripe Kare Kare, Tokwa at Lechon Baboy, Ginataang, Laing, and Lechon Lumpiang Shanghai. There’s also Sisig Fried Rice and Chorizo Fried Rice.

Of course, we also had some of the Rico’s Lechon staple dishes like Lechon Paksiw, Spicy Lechon, Bulalo, Adobong Kangkong, and Baked Scallops. For dessert, we had the yummy Pandan Tapioca and our fave, the Oreo Mango Float.

Apart from the Tiendesitas Branch, there’ll also be two upcoming stores in the North, one in Ayala Malls Cloverleaf, and one in UP Town Center in Katipunan, Quezon City. Great news for the northern, folks!
