Discover the Richness of Filipino Coffee Blends on PAL Flights

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa, and Robusta–did you know that the Philippines is one of only a handful of countries that can grow the four varieties of commercially viable coffee? In the 400 years since coffee was first planted in Philippine soil, our coffee culture has grown to sweep the country, as evidenced by the wide variety of cafes in cities and towns across the islands.

Now, it’s taking to the skies as well.

Brewing in the sky

At 35,000 feet, experience Philippine coffee at new heights when you fly Philippine Airlines (PAL). Savor local Arabica and Robusta beans hailing from Cavite and Sultan Kudarat provinces, expertly roasted and uniquely blended for your pleasure.

These rich, bold, and aromatic all-Filipino blends are now served exclusively on all PAL flights, both domestic and international.

PAL VP for Marketing Alvin Miranda says, “As the nation’s flag carrier, PAL is proud to introduce the world to the exceptional taste of Philippine coffee. Our initiative showcases the country’s rich culinary heritage and provides our passengers with a taste of the Philippines.”

An indulgence with benefits

Beyond its delicious qualities, coffee can improve your flying experience, too. It alleviates some of the challenges of air travel like tiredness and jet lag, allowing you to arrive at your destination focused and fresh.

With PAL’s new and exclusive in-flight coffee, fliers on Economy Class, international Premium Economy and domestic Comfort Class will perk up with a blend of 60% Arabica and 40% Robusta beans. Business Class passengers will get an extra boost with a special 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta blend.

Through this initiative, PAL will help provide sustainable revenue for its partner local farmers while giving its passengers an elevated flying experience. As “The Heart of the Filipino,” PAL champions all things “proudly Filipino”. Now with locally sourced coffee brewing in flight, it’s truly a different class of service in the skies.
