Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival 2017: Here’s What to Expect
If you are a fan of music and other forms of arts, here is good news: Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival 2017 will be held next month. Specifically, the event will run starting March 10 through 12 at the Malasimbo Amphitheatre in Puerto Galera, Mindoro.
The music festival, which is now in its seventh year, will feature numerous local and international acts, according to a report from Rappler. These include June Marieezy, Jordan Rakei, Alfredo Rodriguez, Tennyson, and more.
Miro Grgic, Malasimbo co-founder and festival director, revealed at a press conference on Feb 10 that the festival will be the last time June Marieezy is going to perform using the said name. Her set, according to Rappler, will be co-produced with KFJ.
What else to expect?
Apart from live performances, those who will attend the festival will also get to see some art installations that feature more that 2 artists and experience a 6-day yoga retreat from March 8 to 13. They will also have the chance to enjoy the so-called silent disco, in which people will listen to music using headphones.
Some of the artists to be featured include Agnes Arellano, Leeroy New, Troy Silvestre, Olivia d’Aboville, and more.

It is good to note that for every ticket sold, the d’Aboville Foundation is going to plant a mangrove seedling. This means that by participating in this festival, you are also contributing in the conservation of the environment.
Another good news is that the foundation will organize workshops with the indigenous Mangyans in the island.
