Hotel Hesperia Madrid Review
After me and my travel buddies journeyed the Spanish Gastronomy Capital of Burgos, we all headed to Madrid Airport. It was our last drop off point. But while that marked the last day of my buddies’ stay in Spain, I, on the other hand, had another two nights to stay in the country, courtesy of Spain Tourism Board.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport
I, unfortunately, lost my passport earlier in this trip, so, after I bid my buddies goodbye, I headed to the Lost and Found Department inside the airport terminal. When I got there, the officers advised me to go to the Airport Police Department instead since, according to them, that’s where lost passports are surrendered.

When I got to the Airport Police Department, I had to wait for a while to get my issue addressed because they still had to look for an English-speaking police officer to assist me. After a police officer came to assist me, he read the report I filed in the police station in Avila. After he learned that I placed my passport inside my travel wallet before losing it, I was instructed to go back to the Lost and Found Department again!
After an hour of walking back and forth, I was told in the Lost and Found Department that nobody has surrendered my passport or my travel wallet yet. Defeated, I instead made my way to Hotel Hesperia Madrid (Hotel Info) in Madrid, which would serve as my accommodation for my extended stay in Spain.
Arrival
When I got to the hotel two hours early for my 2PM check-in, I must have looked terribly exhausted and worried, because the people in the front desk immediately assisted me in my check-in. I filled out the forms for my early check-in, and deposited 100 euros just in case I use something from my room’s minibar during my stay. They asked for my passport afterwards, and after I told them my situation, they nodded in understanding and asked for an ID picture for my identification instead.

The check-in process was quick, and that was very soothing considering my problem during then. They got my room ready just minutes afterward. The guest relations staff helped me with my luggage and led me to my 40-square meter Junior Suite.
Complimentary Fruits and Sparkling Water
He opened the door for me and showed me to the room I was about to stay in for two nights. The air conditioning system was already switched on and the room was clean, smelled fresh, and looked inviting. The guest relations staff explained to me that the fruits, bottled mineral water, and sparkling water on the table were complementary. He also gave me a list of contact numbers I could dial in cases I needed something. Before he left, he reminded me of breakfast time and where it was being served. He closed the door behind him and I was left alone in my room.
Hotel Location
Hotel Hesperia Madrid (Hotel Rates) is very conspicuous and very accessible. It’s located along the Paseo de la Castellana, a long and wide highway that features several other well-known buildings and establishments in Madrid as well. The hotel is located inside the central business district so it’s not directly next to the busy street, but the view of the city, which I think was best at night, was readily visible from my room window.
Room
The first thing I saw in my room was my king-sized bed. It was calling me like, “Melo, come here and sleep. Stop worrying about your passport and get some rest first.” But of course, I didn’t give in to the tempting fluffiness and comfort of my bed. I am a traveler by heart so I wouldn’t let my lost passport stop me from exploring more of the wonderful country of Spain!

Coffee Making Facility
I had a minibar and a coffee making machine, and somewhere in the room was a safe box. I checked my bathroom. It was a very huge one with a bathtub, a complete set of Bulgari Bathroom amenities, and a separate area for the bowl with a built-in bidet.

I also had a hot-and-cold rain shower. What I found rather amusing was that my bathroom conveniently had a telephone inside, just in case I needed it.

My room had a working table next to the window that gave me a view of the city, and the complimentary WiFi connection was also superbly fast. My closet contained a bathrobe and a pair of indoor slippers.
Although my room didn’t have a veranda (the veranda has always been my favorite part of the rooms I stay in my tours), the huge window next to my working table sufficed.
Dining
I was only able to taste the hotel’s breakfast because as a traveler, I routinely go out early and spend the whole day walking around and discovering things by myself.

The breakfast they served was really good, and satisfying. The breakfast buffet menu included balanced meals that I needed for my long, walking tours.
Service
The staff at the Hotel Hesperia Madrid (Discounted Rates) was very helpful and courteous. They responded to my needs very quickly each time I called. And of course, I would also never forget how well they treated me and how they kindly understood my problem when I first arrived in the hotel, when I was exhausted from walking back and forth between the lost and found and the police station, and when I worried to death about my lost passport.

Overall
I immensely enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Hesperia Madrid (Hotel Reviews). My room was decorated with fresh flowers, and my stay was very relaxing. The staff was very understanding, and their services didn’t leave me unsatisfied. Aside from the fact that the WiFi connection in my room was the fastest I’ve ever had in Spain, the location of the hotel itself was very convenient for a person who enjoyed walking around like me. Losing my passport wasn’t the best experience for a traveler like me, I know, but my stay in Hotel Hesperia was.
I’m pretty sure, I’m not just one of the few happy guests, checkout Hesperia Madrid TripAdvisor Reviews and learn why everyone loves this hotel in Madrid.
