Starbucks: Brewing Beautiful Love Stories Around the World
As Starbucks serve their best-tasting coffee every day, there are wonderful moments and stories brewing within the stores as people of different walks of life gather together while enjoying a cup of coffee in the company made for friends and family.
While Starbucks houses human connection moments, it also witnesses the deepest kind of connection in the world – love. This Valentine’s Day, discover different kinds of love that are as heart-warming as a pipping cup of coffee, as sweet as dessert, and as stronger as a shot of espresso.
Love is Sweeter the Second Time Around
Sometimes, bringing out distinct flavors for the perfect brew takes some time. Just like the perfect cup of coffee, love needs a little time to brew to make it sweeter and stronger.
In 2005, Marvin and Amelia ended their almost 2-year relationship. Amelia started to focus on her work, family and ministry service while spending most of her time at a local Starbucks. One day, she was surprised to see Marvin waiting for her outside the store. Despite being apart for more than a year, both of them admitted that they still have feelings for each other and everything remained the same. From that moment on, they started to rekindle their romance. They tied the knot and had their pre-nuptial shoot at the place where their love story started for the second time around — Starbucks.
Long-lasting Coffee Connections
Coffee links people together in its own special way. Over sips of cold brews or slurps of blended Frappuccinos®, people can make many memorable moments together. For three lovely couples, the connections they were able to make at Starbucks grew stronger to withstand even the farthest distances.
James and Jaedel were miles apart in the beginning. He stayed in California while she lived in Laguna, but when the two finally met, they knew it was something special. Jaedel was a mother of two and James embraced her children into his life. The couple bonded over Starbucks family dates. Eventually, they decided to get married and had a child of their own. As their family grew, they continued to share more family dates at the store.
Another love story that started with coffee and tested by distance is that of a Starbucks Store Manager and a former partner, Franz, and Jennifer, who met at Starbucks Las Piñas where he started as a seasonal hire and she was a shift supervisor. The two already felt a spark as they talked about growing up in the same city and province. Unfortunately, both of them were transferred to different stores and grew apart as Jennifer worked overseas. Realising that she is his true love and he cannot let her go, Franz started to pursue Jennifer on social media. Just recently, the couple started a new chapter in their lives as they officially became husband and wife.
A Well-Brewed Journey
A delicious and freshly brewed cup of coffee, without all the extra syrups and the extra toppings is already a treat itself. The same goes with romance — there are passionate love affairs that endure relentless struggles and there are also beautiful stories that will take anybody’s heart with its simplicity and sincerity.
Joseph and Paula share a story with an uncomplicated and sweet start. After being introduced to each other by common friends, Joseph started to court Paula. Every day, he would pick her up from her work and take her to a Starbucks store to talk and get to know each other. Years later, they are happily married and already started a family of their own. They also have their own Starbucks tradition: spending Christmas and New Year at the store where everything started.
For Geo and Rhoalyn, Starbucks did not just hold the memories of the past, but also the plans for the future. As frequent customers at the Alpap-Leviste branch, the couple had spent many days imagining their lives together, just sitting down, and planning for their future ahead. It was in this space where many milestones began as dreams as they slowly turned them into realities.
These love stories are just a few of the hundreds of stories that happen within hundreds of Starbucks stores every day. So the next time you are in a Starbucks store, stop, sit, and watch as different stories of love and beautiful moments will start to unravel around you.
