UNO at Waterfront Cebu
Want to take your dining experience to a higher level? The King of Sinulog along with other media partners was recently invited by Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino to taste the daily-themed UNO Restaurant under the supervision of Executive Chef Pelaez. Read on to know why UNO Restaurant is worth a daily culinary visit.

Speaking of elegance, UNO Restaurant surely tops that list being situated inside the castle-like Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Awarded as Cebu’s Best City Hotel, Waterfront remains to be the premier venue for events and conventions in the Philippines.

Enveloped by colorful lanterns and sophisticated interior details, UNO Restaurant is a perfect place to bring your guests, family and friends.

With an interactive lifestyle concept, UNO Restaurant showcases an enticing international buffet spread in collaboration with Mizu, Tin Gow, Madeleine and La Gondola. Dining at UNO gives you a glimpse of what to expect with other restaurants along the Gourmet Walk.

Despite the various cuisines available, Chef Pelaez stressed out that UNO Restaurant offers traditional Filipino specialty dishes like what your lola used to cook such as Rellenong Manok, Banana Blossom Salad and Bibingka to name a few. Because of this, there will be a new appreciation of the rare Filipino culinary secrets unknown to the average diner. This is Chef Pelaez’s initiative on putting the Filipino cuisine on the spotlight along with other Asian favorites.

If you’re new to Cebu and to Filipino cuisine, you should never miss out on the Roasted Pig or popularly known as Lechon de Cebu. I never get tired of eating Lechon especially during fiestas and family events.

I also was able to try out their grilling station where I requested to try different kinds of meat and fish in one plate. Alongside it was the noodle and pasta station wherein I requested a Penne Pesto. What I love about these stations was that the cooks preparing my requests were more than happy to serve. Each station gave me a card number so that my requests would be delivered straight to my table. Eating my requests made me quite full but there was still room for dessert so I tried their homemade Brazo de Mercedes made daily which truly melted in my mouth. Definitely a must-try!

UNO Restaurant features various themes every day of the week. For those who are into shellfish, indulge in Monday Mussels Mania. For the Spanish food lovers, try out Chef Jeff’s Martes de Paella recipes. For those who want to taste the streets of Asia, Wednesday Asian Spices and Flairs would be more than enough.

For the sweet-tooths, an all-Cebuano chocolate buffet station is prepared every Thursday on 50 Shades of Chocolate. Dive into Davao-style tuna steak, sashimi, tartare and more with Tuna-licious Friday. Reserve your tummies for some grilled specialties with Saturday BBQ Fiesta. Last but not the least, end the week with free flowing Bloody Mary and Mojito with Mary Merry Sunday paired with a luxurious lunch buffet of international favorites.
