Where to Stay in Sogod Cebu: Easy Vacation House

Easy Vacation House in Sogod, Cebu

Looking for a grand rest house for the entire gang in Northern Cebu? Want to know how it feels like for your barkada, family, or team to own a private mansion specifically for team building, a place for relaxation, or a venue for partying like in the movie Project X, hopefully without the property damages and news headlines? Then this article is for you.

Our meet-up point was at Parkmall in Mandaue right after lunch on a Saturday. We chose it since a mall is the best place to wait for someone because you can just stroll around and do window shopping or just eat the hours away, especially since our barkada, KK, is composed of more than 30 people. Imagine waiting for thirty people. Laughs. You may find KK’s population surprising but we actually just started out as a small group of Computer Engineering students from the University of San Carlos, but gradually our number grew, probably because of our friendliness and happy-go-lucky group dynamic.

The King of Sinulog with his Kitang Kuyoga Barkada is off to northern Cebu for an overnight stay, well technically, party the night away, in Easy Vacation House located in Sogod.

Anyway, back to the road trip, we had no problem with regard to our transportation since we had four vehicles to accommodate everyone. By the way, Sogod is the municipality right after Catmon. Located on the right side of the road by the sea from Cebu City, Easy Vacation House has small signage with a faded out logo by the road.

Better lookout for the brown and black gate surrounded by white concrete walls when in Sogod. For those of you who plan to go here via public transportation, you can opt for the Ceres Bus Liner or the van for hire at Cebu North Bus Terminal in Mandaue and pay more or less PHP 100 one way.

Arriving at our destination, the gates were opened and we were happy to see a spacious green lawn with a parking space that could accommodate at least eight vehicles. Taking along our bags with us, we were immediately welcomed by two caretakers of the property who showed us around. The first thing I did was to get to the best room and find the perfect spot to best enjoy the weekend.

Easy Vacation House has three floors with the third floor at the same level as the highway and parking lot, cascading down to the beach level. The third floor has two rooms that could accommodate ten people both with a private restroom. They also share a veranda with a view of the pool and sea and a spacious common living room with leather sofas with a 40-inch box TV with cable channels.

Going down a flight of stairs to the second floor, you’ll see the kitchen and a common restroom on your right. On your left are two other rooms. For me, the best room was located on this floor because it is also closest to the kitchen where the food is. Laughs. It is the one with glass doors closest to the veranda and could accommodate five people.

The room next door was the biggest room in the building as it could accommodate more than ten people. There is also a smaller living room and a veranda and an alternate passageway to the ground floor.

The ground floor is my favorite since it’s where all the fun is located, the billiards table, swimming pool, basketball court, the grilling station, and the beach. It also has a function hall good for forums and seminars.

Besides the billiards table are dining tables and a restroom for both sexes. Walking towards to Bermuda-laden swimming pool, it has a shower area on the right.

You’ll also notice that it is big enough for laps and aqua Zumba classes. There are also lounging chairs under a shaded area on the left side of the pool where you can just lay around all day. However, the beach by the basketball court is not that inviting especially when you’ve been to places like Bantayan or Moalboal.

Easy Vacation House is yours for only PHP 12,000 a night more or less. They have additional charges if your group has more than ten people. As for us, we shelled out PHP 1,000 each and that was already good for everything including the food, drinks, and transportation.

We were the ones who prepared for our own meals but maybe you could arrange for the caretakers to cook for you instead with additional charges of course.

I guess I’ve already covered everything there is needed for you to know about Easy Vacation House. Better message their official Facebook page for all your specific inquiries.
Overall, the King of Sinulog with the Kitang Kuyoga barkada had a weekend that we would never forget.

Now, we’re off scouting for another rest house, this time probably in the highlands for summer. Later!
