Francisco is a really nice guy. His place is very clean. He’s always cleaning every single day he cleans the house top to bottom. He’s also really nice and polite. My dog made a mess and he was very nice and understanding and still let me stay. I appreciate that he was willing to work with me. Great location close to a lot in Tulum Centro and some great food trucks nearby. Highly recommend! – Miranda

The road leading there is quite rough only the first time…. after that, you know what to expect so it is manageable. Also once you turn on Calle 12 sur just keep going until it dead ends and you will be there! Also, bring a tip for the guy who greets you, he will take all your luggage up four flights of stairs!! As far as the room… JUST AMAZING! – Nisha

I stayed at this apartment for a month. The apartment met most of my needs but I felt that there could have been more hospitality (local tips, soaps/shampoos (that were new and not used), more toilet paper). My suggestion to you is if you decide to book, please make sure to inspect everything before settling in (which is suggested for every Airbnb) to make sure everything is at your satisfaction. As nice as the apartment was, there were issues with cleanliness which were resolved the next day. I did buy a few things like tupper ware, toilet paper, candles (for the patio) and spices for the apartment so enjoy those if you are staying there after me. A couple of things I appreciated were the beach towels and the cooler. I did not use the cooler but it would have been convenient for the beach (go to the Public Beach for crystal blue water with no seaweed). This apartment was located in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood and the pictures are accurate but please be aware of the following: 1. Located in La Valeta which is a little bit farther from town and definitely far from the beach. Therefore I recommend a motorized vehicle (scooter or car). I had a bicycle and I struggled getting to my destinations not only because of distance but also the heat. 2. Also note that the road to get there has potholes and is partially paved. Lighting is not the best at night but not terrible. I was a solo female traveler riding my bike alone at night and I felt safe but you never know. 3. I suggested to the host to get a microwave (as there’s not one), additional bathroom amenities and please note there’s no washer and dryer so you will have to drop your items at a nearby Lavanderia. 4. The host was not kidding about the “creatures” that can appear in your apartment so please keep doors closed as there are lizards, spiders and LOTS of mosquitoes ready to devour you. As long as the doors are closed, you will be fine. 5. Taxis to the apartment from town (or grocery store) are about $80 pesos and $250-300 pesos from the beach so keep that in mind. 6. You CANNOT bike to the beach (if you choose to get a bicycle). It’s not as close as you think it is so bike into town and then take a taxi to save you some money. 7. There are a few restaurants around open for breakfast/lunch/dinner that are delicious. There’s also a Farmacia and an OXXO should you need drinks, medicine, and some food items. 8. There are few fresh fruit and vegetable stands as well as taco stands so don’t be afraid to buy something from them and support their hassle. 9. the WiFi was strong enough to allow me to work remotely but there were some days where it was weak or it would go off. It does have Netflix and YouTube but sometimes they didn’t work due to the WiFi. If you need to zoom or live stream, get sky to roam as a backup. 10. The neighborhood has a working space, a gym, and 2 pools. The working space has its own WiFi so make sure to ask what it is. It’s really strong so I found myself working there a couple of times. The gym is busy but you’ll start to learn the times it’s used as it’s right across and you can observe your neighbor’s workout schedule. 11. Lastly, you will be able to hear your neighbors but the noise it’s too disruptive. Overall, I recommend staying here but I wanted to share this information to mentally prepare any guests. – Nora

Reviews:
This place is awesome; it’s a little outside of the main part of town but only about half-hour walks to the main strip anyways so not bad at all. It is super clean and they are very accommodating. The apartment is really nice and spacious as well. The construction really was not an issue at all, it’s only heard during very reasonable hours of the day. The locals can be quite loud and rowdy at night but the host was so good to move us when it got too loud after a week, as we have a 10-month-old who was being woken from the noise out the back. The only downside is the pool is quite cold and is always fully shaded, awesome if your scorching hot but otherwise just a little too chilly to swim in really. Overall a wonderful stay and would recommend and stay again in the future! – Jami

Reviews:
Erik’s place looks unique and beautiful. It feels like you’re in the jungle with a panoramic view so I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy it. Just be prepared that it is a jungle so you can find some insects inside the pod. Actually, it is the reason why we didn’t spend a lot of time there, we like when it is sealed inside which means no insects so this place is probably just not for us. The shower and toilet are outside the jungle pod. Erik has bikes if you need them. Anyways I’m glad that we had a chance to meet Erik and his family, such nice and friendly people. Erik gave us good local tips, taxi driver contact, etc. – Dmytro
