We were in For a Treat at the Triple Treat Event at The Forest Lodge in Camp John Hay
(Baguio City, Philippines) – The Triple Treat Event at The Forest Lodge (hotel info) happened so fast. First, there was an interview with the General Manager, Mr. Ramon C. Cabrera. There were foods, there was mingling, there was a national artists present so over all, people were happy with the event. But looking closely, it was more than that. The event is to celebrate and promote what it’s like to really experience Baguio and most of all, how The Manor Hotel (hotel info) and The Forest Lodge equates to superb service and hospitality.

We were able to interview Mr. Cabrera and he was more than happy to share some things about the event and The Manor and The Forest Lodge.

First off, The Manor is the older hotel of the two, both of which are located inside Camp John Hay in Baguio City. The Manor is more expensive to book in and they have long years of service since The Forest Lodge has only been in operation for a couple of years. Staying in The Manor gives you an old world vibe and an exquisite taste of how it feels like to be treated like royalty.

According to Mr. Cabrera, The Manor is the perfect place to hold conferences and this is that time of the year when they have a lot of guests doing so but he added that the place is still kid-friendly. True enough, the quiet place becomes alive with some children running. The kids won’t mind if their parents are a little busy because they can go on leisure activities like going on a pony ride and visiting the butterfly sanctuary. At the end of the day the kids are happy while their parents were able to do their jobs.

He said that June to October is the best time to book a room since that’s the time they bring down their rates to encourage their regular customers. He added that the perks of staying there are their amenities like the Green House and wellness studio. Guests can also dine alfresco and couples can avail of wedding packages and other romantic promos.

Their busiest months are from January to March. He proposes to his staffs that they don’t really need to investigate what other hotels in Baguio are offering but to ignite more passion in their service and quality of hotel stay which is quite a good motto for the hotel which has been running for 17 years.

It’s quite impressive that The Manor is an ASEAN Green Hotel Awardee. On top of that, they like to source foods from local farmers and their complimentary basket comes from local sources.

The event was successful in every way. Right at the beginning, guests were served with hors d’oeuvres and wine. It’s good they served wine because we needed the heat to match that cold evening. I sampled salmon, tuna tartare and cheese with herbs and it was delightful. A few minutes later, Mr. Cabrera already made his speech about the hotels. The Forest Lodge is the more budget friendly between the two hotels but it doesn’t fall short of the best hotel service that its sister hotel offers. He said that what’s best about the hotel is its location, cold temperature and of course, the pine trees.

After that, food was already waiting at the buffet table. Foods like sashimi, rice rolls, tempura, fresh oysters and more were available for everyone. Wine was also served and iced tea was the choice for non-alcoholic drink. There was sweet music as guests enjoyed their food and great conversations.
By the end of the evening people went back to their comfortable rooms while taking with them a piece of good memory of the event.
