On July 23, AirAsia, regarded as the World’s Best Low-Cost Carrier, unveiled a campaign that aims to persuade more folks to start living their dream and reach their travel goals. The initiative is also aimed at motivating more individuals to share their stories of traveling through photos and films. This campaign is dubbed “#WhyIFly” and many travel storytellers and vloggers who attended the event were excited about this. At the Coffee Bean and Tea Lef 26th St. Bistro, AirAsia also unveiled during the launch of a film and photo exhibit. The photos were beautifully printed by Canon.

During this online campaign, Joy Cañeba, Philippines AirAsia’s CEO, shared that “travel inspiration is everywhere.”

“People are eager to break their routines, and are hungry for new and authentic experiences,” she said.

Cañeba also shared that since Filipinos are increasingly becoming aware of the natural beauty and vibrancy of the Philippines and with easy access to the Internet, they often share their experiences using social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. This made it easy, not only for their friends and families but also for other wanderlusts who are using social media to find out what other travel options they could have within the country. It could help broaden their sense of awe and wonder to them.

Indeed, traveling has become not only a hobby but a lifestyle as well. For many travel bloggers, it is something that they’d want to stick with their whole life. Now, AirAsia had a perfect kick-off treat for some Instagram influencers. Filipino social media influencers, in the likes of Free Spirits PH, Where-to-Next, and SinoPinas, along with the well-renowned videographer, Patrick Martin, were able to explore Northern Samar’s Biri Rock Formations, El Nido’s picturesque crystal clear waters, and Kalibo’s unspoiled beaches.

During AirAsia’s #WhyIFly launch, the company also introduced the “#WhyIFly Challenge.” This is a call to inspire families and friends to embrace traveling locally by sharing travel motivations through beautiful photos on Instagram. Participants are required to post a photo of their trip a day. This should be done in five successive days. Participants should also give their answers to “Why I Fly” as their captions.
