Red Carpet, Malaysia’s First Interactive Wax Museum

One of reasons why I want to visit i-City is to experience and see the life size celebrity wax replicas in Red Carpet. Just like Snowalk, Red Carpet Wax Museum is one of the most visited areas inside the theme park.

The fun of a wax museum is the feeling of being among the stars. Red Carpet is perfectly named, then, because it is a walk with the rich and famous – but of course they’re not doing any of the walking.

i-City expanded this year with this 30,000 square foot space where you’re meant to feel like you’re at an Oscar’s gala. No matter what you think about wax museums and famous people, the fun of having photos of yourself with the stars is really worth the visit.

But the fun for me, and for thousands of others, is the fact that when you stand and shake hands with US President Barack Obama, the photos looks just real enough. You can even dress up a bit because there are props that are appropriate for the individuals. Psy is even featured doing his signature dance.

And unlike a lot of other wax museums, you can touch the figures as much as you want. Give Angelina Jolie a hug? Yes, please. It’s not Madame Tussaud’s where you have to be very careful of the security guards. Not like real life, either, where you have to watch out for real body guards.

The cast of characters is as varied as anywhere, with famous actors as well as political figures, great thinkers, and cultural icons. Some of the famous names include Brat Pitt, Queen Elizabeth, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, the Dalai Llama, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Pavarotti, Albert Einstein, and others who have passed away including Steve Jobs, Bruce Lee, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.

And even the recently departed Nelson Mandela can be found at Red Carpet. There are 100 figures in total and probably more to be added eventually.

During the Special School Holiday promotion going on now, tickets are available at 50% off the regular price. Full price is RM100 for adults and RM50 for children. The local discount, for Malaysians with MyKad, is RM80 for adults and RM40 for kids.

Having a side by side photos with a hundred of wax figures of famous people from history and contemporary personalities of today, I really can’t think of a better price for a photo with someone famous. It’s really worth the price:) For tickets and inquiries, visit their website – http://iticket.i-city.my/DayPassTicket.aspx
