From Bronze to Bigger Goals: PLDT Stars Kath Arado and Savi Davison Prepare for PVL Season 10
The PLDT High Speed Hitters are preparing for another run at the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) championship after finishing third in the 2026 Invitational Conference. With the next milestone season approaching, team leaders Kath Arado and Savi Davison are focused on improving their game, strengthening team chemistry, and building on the lessons of their latest campaign.

PLDT Invitational Conference 2026 bronze
Arado, PLDT’s defensive anchor and team captain, and Davison, the team’s powerful outside hitter, have become key figures in the franchise’s continued development. Together, the two players bring experience, consistency, and leadership to both ends of the court.
Arado’s back-row defense and floor coverage help the team extend rallies and create scoring opportunities. Davison complements that defensive foundation with her attacking power, giving the High Speed Hitters a formidable defense-and-offense combination.
Their partnership will remain important as PLDT sets its sights on the upcoming PVL 2026-2027 All-Filipino Conference.
PLDT High Speed Hitters Aim Higher After Bronze Finish
For Davison, every offseason offers a chance to improve and address areas that need work. The Best Outside Spiker from the 2026 Invitational Conference said the team plans to use its recent experience to motivate it for the next tournament.
“The mindset of every off-season is to be better than before,” Davison said. “We fell short in the Invitational Conference, but we are heading into the new conference with some momentum. Hopefully we will be able to take the lessons learned and apply them during the off-season to propel us forward.”
Although PLDT aimed to reach the finals, Davison believes the team’s response to adversity was an important part of its development. The High Speed Hitters had to recover from midseason losses and quickly regain their competitive rhythm.
She also expressed satisfaction with the team’s ability to finish the conference with a victory, highlighting how the players responded to challenges in a short period.
“I am happy that we were able to close out the PVL Invitational Conference on a high note with a win,” Davison said. “Although the goal was to be placed in the finals, I believe that we were challenged and were able to grow in ways that were needed.”
For Davison, the team’s ability to respond under pressure was one of the most encouraging aspects of its campaign.
Kath Arado Finds Meaning in PLDT’s Podium Finish
As captain and libero, Arado understands the importance of keeping the team focused through difficult stretches of a tournament. The bronze medal carried particular significance after PLDT experienced losses during the middle of the season.

Arado, who earned the Best Libero award in the Invitational Conference, described the result as both fulfilling and emotional. The podium finish demonstrated the team’s ability to regroup, stay united, and continue competing despite setbacks.
“Honestly, our Invitational Conference finish feels really fulfilling and emotional,” Arado said. “After the losses we experienced in the middle of the season, winning the bronze medal showed us that we were able to bounce back, stay together, and keep fighting.”
She acknowledged that the result fell short of the team’s original ambitions. However, the experience gave the players valuable lessons to carry into their next campaign.
“For us, the mindset is to use the previous season as motivation to keep improving,” Arado added.
The team’s preparation for the 10th PVL season will require attention to both physical conditioning and mental readiness. For Arado and her teammates, the challenge is to turn their recent experience into stronger, more consistent performance in the next conference.
Back-to-Back Wins Against Creamline Highlight PLDT’s Resilience
One of the defining moments of PLDT’s bronze-medal campaign was its back-to-back victories against powerhouse Creamline. The two matches tested the High Speed Hitters’ composure, discipline, and ability to execute under pressure.
Davison emphasized that facing Creamline demands sustained focus because the opponent can change a match’s course.
“Any match against Creamline is highly competitive. At no point during those two matches did we think we had the win secured,” she said.
The outside hitter explained that PLDT had to remain consistent from the opening points through the final moments of the bronze-medal match. The team could not afford to relax, even when it gained an advantage.
Arado pointed to the players’ shared determination as a decisive factor in the team’s performance during those crucial games.
“I think the turning point was when we realized that we had already been through so much this season, but we were still standing and fighting together,” Arado recalled.
She said every point mattered as PLDT worked to finish the conference on a positive note. The players relied on one another, trusted their preparation, and continued fighting for every ball.
“When we were able to fight back, especially in the crucial moments, I felt that this was our chance to finish strong,” she added.
The experience reinforced the importance of teamwork in a competitive league where momentum can shift quickly. For PLDT, the bronze-medal series offered a chance to show resilience and regain confidence heading into the next conference.
Teamwork and Support Remain Central to PLDT’s Campaign
Preparing for another PVL season involves more than individual training and on-court performance. The High Speed Hitters rely on their players, coaches, and support staff to maintain their competitive standards.

Davison stressed the importance of keeping everyone aligned with the team’s goals and ensuring that each member is ready to contribute.
“The key is to have everyone on the same page and prepared to compete, from coaching staff to all the players,” she said.
That collective approach also extends to the team’s supporters, whose presence and encouragement have remained an important source of motivation throughout the season.
Davison credited PLDT’s fans for inspiring the players to work hard during training and perform at their best whenever they take the court. She emphasized that their support matters during both successful stretches and difficult moments.
“The fans have been the core of PLDT,” Davison said. “They inspire us to work when not being watched and to play to our best abilities when given the opportunity to play in front of them. They inspire us to be better every day, supporting us through the highs and lows.”
The team’s relationship with its supporters remains an important part of its journey as it prepares for another demanding PVL campaign.
Kath Arado Thanks PLDT Fans Ahead of the New PVL Season
As the High Speed Hitters turn their attention to the upcoming conference, Arado thanked the fans who continued to support the team through its victories, losses, and challenges.
She dedicated the team’s bronze-medal finish to its supporters and promised to carry the lessons of the previous campaign into the next season.
“To all our fans and supporters, thank you so much for staying with us throughout the season, through the wins, the losses, and all the challenges we faced,” Arado said.
“Your support, love, and encouragement meant so much to us and gave us extra strength to keep fighting. Our bronze medal last conference was also for you.”
For the captain, the next chapter is an opportunity to build on the team’s progress and return to competition with renewed determination.
PLDT High Speed Hitters Prepare for the PVL 2026-2027 All-Filipino Conference
With the Invitational Conference behind them, Arado, Davison, and the rest of the PLDT High Speed Hitters are shifting their focus to the PVL 2026-2027 All-Filipino Conference.
The bronze-medal finish provided a positive ending to a challenging campaign, but the team remains focused on its larger ambitions. Consistency, stronger execution, and trust among teammates will be central to its preparations.
As two of PLDT’s most decorated players, Arado and Davison will continue to play important roles in guiding the team through its next campaign. Their experience, complementary skills, and commitment to improvement give the High Speed Hitters a foundation to build on as they pursue another podium finish and aim for a place in the finals.
