Klook Data Reveals Where Filipinos Are Traveling This Year-End
From Japan’s winter landscapes to Vietnam’s mountain escapes and Singapore’s concert scene, Filipino travelers are making the most of their year-end holidays.

MANILA – Filipino travelers are looking beyond traditional holiday destinations as they plan their year-end getaways, according to booking data from Klook, a leading travel experiences platform in Asia Pacific.
Japan remains the top destination for Filipinos seeking cooler weather, while northern Vietnam is gaining popularity as an alternative winter escape. Nearby destinations are also attracting travelers with outdoor adventures, concerts, seasonal attractions, and relaxing staycations.
According to Klook, the latest travel trends reflect how Filipinos are combining leisure, entertainment, and personal experiences to make their final trips of the year more memorable.
“While getaways to cooler destinations remain popular, more Filipino travelers are discovering alternative ways to beat the heat and enjoy the last quarter of the year closer to home,” says Michelle Ho, General Manager of Klook Philippines.
She adds that travelers are increasingly looking for refreshing experiences and convenient ways to plan their trips, from selecting attractions to organizing activities throughout their journeys.
Japan Remains a Favorite for Cold-Weather Escapes

Japan continues to dominate Filipino travelers’ winter holiday wish lists, with approximately one in five choosing the destination for seasonal travel.
However, northern Vietnam is emerging as another popular option for those seeking cooler temperatures and scenic landscapes.

Hanoi, Ha Long, and Sapa are among the Vietnamese destinations receiving the most bookings from Filipino travelers. Visitors are increasingly interested in experiences such as alpine coasters, cable car rides, and tours of traditional villages.

Taiwan also attracts travelers seeking outdoor adventures and seasonal relaxation. Hot springs, mountain excursions, and scenic attractions are becoming popular additions to holiday itineraries.
Travelers can relax in Beitou’s hot springs, explore Taichung’s urban attractions, or discover the natural beauty around Taroko Gorge.

These destinations offer Filipino travelers a chance to enjoy cooler weather while exploring different landscapes, cultures, and outdoor activities.
Concerts Are Inspiring International Trips
Major entertainment events are becoming another reason Filipinos travel abroad.
According to Klook booking data, Filipinos are among the top source markets for BTS’s highly anticipated concerts at Singapore’s National Stadium.
The concert experience extends beyond the stadium, with Singapore preparing a month-long, island-wide celebration featuring themed activities, light shows, and special experiences at selected attractions and museums.
Klook Travel Pulse 2026 data also highlights how concert tourism is influencing travel behavior.
Around 90% of Filipino travelers who travel for concerts extend their trips to explore the destination. Of these travelers, 78% stay for up to four additional days.
This trend shows how international concerts are becoming opportunities for longer vacations, allowing fans to discover local attractions, enjoy regional cuisine, and experience more of their destination beyond the main event.
Staycations and Local Getaways Gain Momentum
International travel remains popular, but domestic destinations are also seeing increased demand as Filipinos prepare for the holiday season.
Klook reported a 46.5% increase in bookings for local accommodations and short-term stays in Manila. Staycations are becoming an attractive option for travelers who want a relaxing break without leaving the metropolitan area.
Local attractions and activities are also gaining traction among families planning convenient holiday outings.
Meanwhile, popular island destinations continue to welcome visitors despite the off-season. Boracay and Cebu remain appealing choices for travelers seeking beach escapes, resort stays, and outdoor activities.
These trends suggest that Filipinos are balancing international adventures with more accessible domestic holidays as the year draws to a close.
