Also located in Palawan is El Nido, a premier destination in the Philippines, and home to some of the most exclusive resorts in the country.

This is also known to be one of the best dive spots in the country, Honda Bay comprising of several islets with its glittering coral reefs presenting great opportunities for snorkeling. The Tubbataha Marine Park; a World Heritage Site, offers the most stunning coral views in the area when diving.

The Puraran Beach on Catanduanes Island is reported as one of the best surfing locations in the world, with its best season from April to June. Undeveloped as a tourist destination and having traditional huts as its main accommodation, this beach is for those who want to get away from the typical beach holiday and take the best advantage of the clear and clean waves and waters. In between taking a surfboard to the sea, the energetic can climb the lofty mountains or take up another type of water sport such as kite surfing.
