Tarsier Botanika in Bohol
Chocolate Hills, Loboc River and Alona Beach – these are some of the places that enter our minds upon the mention of Bohol. Unknown to many is the quiet, secluded haven called Tarsier Botanika.
Tarsier Botanika is a unique tropical hideaway that features 12 villas nestled inside a lush seaside botanical sanctuary. There are over 2,000 species of plants in the gardens that are made even more beautiful with sculptures and lily ponds.
I was very fortunate to get to experience this picturesque place along with other media representatives for 3 days. I can tell you all about it but as the saying goes, “a picture paints a thousand words,” so let me show you instead.

The property covers 8 hectares and there are so many things to do within the resort.
The Quintessential Equestrian Experience
Simply saying “horseback riding” is just not enough. Get to see Lusitano stallions imported from Portugal at the stables of Tarsier Botanika.
The Animal Sanctuary
Tarsier Botanika is home to different breeds of birds, monkeys and even a bearcat! And yes, they also have the usual tabbies that find the place just as relaxing as people do.
The Swimming Pool
While there are villas with its own pool, the largest swimming pool in the resort is so inviting you’d love to go for a dip on a warm, sunny day.
The owners of Tarsier Botanika are collectors of art from all over the world. While photos are not allowed inside, their collection is definitely worth a look.

The Botanika Spa Village
Nothing caps off a vacation better than a relaxing massage and that’s exactly what Tarsier Botanika offers. They are known for their signature 90-minute massage and their Bohol Chocolate Latte Body Scrub. I tried their signature massage and it felt absolutely amazing.
The Dining Experience
I literally gained a pound for each day I spent at Tarsier Botanika. The food looked really good and it tasted even better. The ingredients were fresh and organic and each meal was mouthwatering. Kudos to the chef!
Besides, who wouldn’t enjoy dining in a place with a view as beautiful as this?
On our second day, we experienced one of the adventures / tours offered by the resort – Tarsier Picnika. We took a boat to a quiet, secluded beach in Pamilacan Island. The water was so clear, the sky so blue and the sand was so fine … it was a perfect day to get some sun and go on an underwater adventure.
We went snorkeling in the Coral Garden near the island and I’ve never seen so much live corals in my life. It felt like a set from Finding Nemo, only it was real and oh so impressive!

And because Tarsier Botanika is all about luxury in nature, even dining in an island was done in style. There was a buffet set up with shrimp, fish, fruits – everything you’d ever want after hours of swimming and water fun. Yes, their in-house chef joined us to make sure that our lunch was perfect … and it certainly was.
While there are so many things to love about Tarsier Botanika – the accommodations, the food, the adventure, the spa – the one thing that tied everything together and elevated the experience from wonderful to downright unforgettable was the genuine hospitality of the people who worked there. It was their sincere smiles and cheerful greetings that made me feel welcome and at home during my 3-day stay.
