The 2017 Airline Excellence Awards has named Etihad Airways as one of the premier airlines in the world. It has been given the distinction of the Best First Class and the Best Long Haul Airline Middle-East and Africa by Airline Ratings.com
Etihad, an Abu Dhabi-based airline company, is also included in the award-giving body’s global top 10 airlines. Geoffrey Thomas, AirlineRatings.com’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, said the airline company’s excellent staff and attention to excellence have ranked it among the world’s best. This is the third consecutive year that the website has named Etihad as one of their top picks.
“Winning an award from Airlineratings.com is already a feat in itself, “ Thomas said. “Etihad Airways has raised the bar by winning each category three years in a row now,” he added, noting that the airline company is also one of the very few that have been rated with a seven-star approval for both product and safety.
The airline company, on the other hand, is thrilled to receive such honors. According to Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Peter Baumgarter, to win AirlineRatings.com’s 2017 Airline Excellence Awards for three consecutive years is a huge honor. He stressed that this distinction cements their position as a leader in the industry. They appreciate being cited for their hospitality, service, and products.
Baumgarter also said that the awards are a testament to Etihad’s commitment to engineering and excellence when it comes to operations. Safety, most especially, is the company’s first and foremost priority.
The awards from AirlineRatings.com comes on the heels of other awards for Etihad. The UAE company was also given a Skytrax Certified 5-Star Airline Rating.
This followed Skytrax awards for the World’s Best First Class Airline, World’s Best First Class Onboard Catering, and World’s Best First Class Airline Seat for its Airbus A380 First Apartment in July 2016.
