Are you looking for Baler Itinerary?
Nothing maybe can be as romantic as to name a place after a person’s wife. Baler is one such case.
Named after the lady-love and wife of a former president of the country, Manuel L. Quezon, Baler in the province of Aurora is a name of a place that will strike anyone’s heart as romantic. However, not just to be taken as such for its name, the place also will appeal to anyone as hearty for its beautiful beaches.
Amco Pacific Beach Resort, Baler Itinerary
As of 2009, Google identified Baler, Aurora as one of the best beach destinations in the country. In addition, Yahoo! Southeast Asia described the place as “one of the top” surf spots in the country as of March 2013. However, its beaches’ nine feet waves are what makes Baler a main tourist asset which attracts hundreds of surfers all over the world especially during the surfing season which starts from September up until February of the next year.
Hanging Bridge in Brgy. Zabali
As a famed tourist destination in the country, it is only our duty as travel writers and online publishers to experience the place first-hand – which, we did. As such, the story of our travel throughout Baler goes as follows.
On my third day in Baler, I tried the tricycle tour to experience the place as what common people without a private transport would. This means, I visited some of the popular places in Baler via its common means of transport – tricycle. For safety reasons, these are not your common tricycle drivers, I hired one that is accredited by the Department of Tourism as part of its initiatives in promoting tourism of the area. Basically, these people are tour guides that are equipped with their own tricycle and a DOT suggested Baler Itinerary. Either way, the experience is just the same.
Here are some of the places included in our Baler Itinerary:
Baler Fish Port
Baler Fish Port
What is Baler in Aurora with seashore at its side without its port? As a province renowned for its beaches, it is not surprising to find a port in Baler. It is located not far from the Ermita Hill at the coastline of Cemento beach. As a port, this is the place where boats are docked and whose catch of fresh salt water fishes as a result of overnight fishing in the Pacific seas is unloaded. Everything in the watery area of the place is blue and is a clear reflection of the skies to the sea at day time. There were a number of boats, both big and small.
Diguisit Anyaw Islets
Diguisit Anyaw Islets / Rock Formations
Said to be a different experience in between changes of low tide and high tide, those who may have experience going to the place during its low tide will find themselves able to climb its rocky formations which will have been a great experience. Otherwise, climbing can be challenging as some of the rocks are submerged in water. Luckily, our experience is of the former.
Pool at AMCO Pacific Beach Resort
Short Visit at AMCO Pacific Resort
For just a quick detour, we made a short visit to AMCO Pacific Resort. This resort is an an ideal venue for wedding, birthday party, family gatherings and corporate team building in the province of Aurora.
Dimadimalangat Islets
Dimadimalangat Islets
Already visible from the coastline of Sabang beach, Dimadimalangat Islets is a rock formation that emerged from the surface water of the pacific. From Brgy. Cemento in Baler, it will take you 5 to 10 minutes of walk to get to the place or 15 minutes if you’re traveling to it by boat.
Diguisit Rock Formations
Dela Torre Beach Resort
Our next stop was at this seemingly simple yet accommodating beach resort by the Diguisit Beach in Baler. Dela Torre Beach Resort is simple enough to feel like a common home in the place without much vanities found in modern, luxurious setup buildings.
Sinigang sa Miso
Lunch at Yolly’s Ihaw-ihaw and Seafood Resto
Just like any good traveler with a good appetite for food, me and my companions dropped by at Yolly’s Ihaw-ihaw and Seafood Resto for our lunch. There we ate grilled squid, ginataang suso (snail cooked with coconut milk), and sinigang (of mayamaya fish).
We returned back to the hotel to freshen up and rest. After a few hours of rest, our tricycle tour resumed at around 3pm. To complete the rest of the tour, we went to Balete Park in San Luis, Hanging Bridge in Brgy. Zabali and finally, ate our afternoon pizza snacks at Aliyah Beach Resort.
Huge Balete Tree
Balete Park in Maria Aurora
This park is famous for its 600-year-old balete tree. Currently the largest tree of its kind in Asia, it would take 60 adult, holding one another at arm’s to encircle its gigantic trunk.
Afternoon at the Hanging Bridge
Hanging Bridge in Brgy. Zabali
Located at Barangay Zabali in Baler (visit Baler’s Official Website), this hanging bridge is now gaining popularity among tourists who loves a little bit of adventure. Its almost sundown when we arrived at the hanging bridge but the scenery is still awesome.
This concludes our tricycle tour itinerary. Truly enough, not just to its name, traveling in Baler in Aurora is as hearty to any man as to the origin of its name.
