Panagbenga Festival 2016: Baguio City Flower Festival Schedule of Events

The flowers in Benguet will be in bloom again in time for the most awaited Panagbenga Festival 2016. Also known as Baguio Flower Festival, the 21st edition of Panagbenga Festival will start on February 1 and will end March 6, 2016. The theme for 2016 Panagbenga Festival is “Bless the Children with Flowers,” which will encourage the participation of various youth groups from different schools in Baguio and nearby towns and cities of Benguet.

In this crowd drawing event, one of the most awaited would be the Panagbenga Grand Float Parade which is scheduled on February 28, 2016. The parade of flower decorated floats will start from DILG Rotunda up to the Baguio Athletic Bowl for final judging.

Air-conditioned bus trips to Baguio leave Manila and Quezon City terminals daily in an hourly basis. Popular bus lines en route are Victory Liner, Partas, and Genesis among others. One way bus ticket would cost you P400 – 450, and travel time will be approximately 6-7 hours (or longer) during Panagbenga Season.

  • Bring wide array of wardrobe as the temperature varies from extremely hot (noon-time) to extremely cold (night-time).
  • Beware of pickpockets especially in crowded places.
  • Best to jog in the morning to feel the cool breeze
  • It is advised to walk when visiting tourist destinations in the town center because they are actually close to each other and it will save you money.
  • During peak seasons, it is best to have a map (either paper map of electronic map) with you if you are not familiar with the places because heavy traffic is expected and it is to avoid getting lost in the midst of travelling.
