So, twenty-four hours is a long flight. But knowing that Sydney is your final destination surely makes the wait all worth it? As one of Australia’s most cosmopolitan cities, Sydney is home to some of the most famous landmarks in the world. The Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House dominate the city skyline. With an abundance of nearby beaches (including the famous Bondi Beach), restaurants, stylish shops, and plenty of history, there is something to suit every taste.

Sydney Opera House
Taking a climb across the Harbor Bridge is undoubtedly one of the best ways to view the city. Tickets are always in high demand, so always book ahead to avoid disappointment. Dawn climbs, night climbs, and twilight climbs for the romantics amongst you are all on offer.
Perhaps climbing to a height of 134 meters isn’t for you. Why not soak up the atmosphere at the Sydney Opera House instead? Guided tours take you around the stunning interior architecture; you can even enjoy an ‘Opera High Tea’ if you are feeling particularly sophisticated.

Sydney Jacaranda Season
A trip to Australia would be incomplete without crashing out on the beach. Bondi Beach is a popular spot with tourists and locals alike. With excellent surfboarding and endless white sand, it would be criminal not to pay a visit. Nearby Bronte Beach shouldn’t be ignored either. Situated on Nelson Bay, this beautiful beach boasts scenic cliff-top walks and stunning sunset views.

Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park
Eating out in Sydney is a truly memorable experience. For panoramic views of the harbor, Aria restaurant should be at the top of your list. Aria offers a contemporary menu serving dishes made from fresh Australian produce. Tetsuya is another fine-dining experience. With a comprehensive wine list and experimental Japanese cuisine, this is one of the most stylish restaurants around. Shopping in Sydney is an equally stylish experience.
For fashionistas, The Strand Arcade is the place to be. Founded in 1892 and retaining all its original features, this arcade is the home of Australian fashion and houses big labels such as Sass and Bide. However, flying twenty-four hours just to shop may not be everyone’s idea of fun. Soaking up Sydney’s history may sound like a better option.
The Australian Museum, founded in 1857, has a number of brilliant exhibitions, including tributes to Indigenous Australians and Australian wildlife. The nearby Museum of Sydney offers an insight into the penal colony through artifacts and goods.
With so much to do and so many diverse experiences, Sydney is definitely worth the flight. The bustling city down under is not to be missed!
