Hotel Review: The Kimberly Hotel Tagaytay
For travel-oriented young families, The Kimberly Hotel in Tagaytay (hotel info) is easily a good choice. This place offers more than just the convenience of being close to the city for that quick weekend getaway but it’s also designed with your kids’ enjoyment in mind. Here are other reasons why your family should check this place out at least once!

1. Bright and beautiful interiors

Vibrant colors are a no-brainer to attract kids. The moment you step into the hotel, the expansive view of bright and chic interiors will be the first thing to greet you. Having been jazzed up in the recent years by hotel consultant, Jeff Wong, it’s an instant go-to spot for photo ops. The light flowing through the floor-length windows gives the place that airy and spacious vibe, which are then complimented by the welcome refreshments to be served upon your check-in.
2. The Vegetable & Herb Farm

A lot of the ingredients used in the meals served here are produce grown in their own garden. Introduce your kids to the simple pleasures of picking your own vegetables from their garden. Plus, if you want to get your hands on your very own set of basil or tarragon to take home, they are available for sale!
3. The Animal Farm/Petting Zoo
More than the usual swimming and random play-filled weekends families embark on out of town, Hotel Kimberly also boasts of its kid-friendly farm. Upon registration with the front desk, your family would be able to get a farm tour and feed the animals.

Just pass the pool and the vegetable garden, you would find free roaming ducks and chickens, turkeys, rabbits, horses, hamsters, among a few. The animals are so used to being around people that you can actually get up close and even pet them!
4. The Food
For hotel standards, their dishes are actually pretty good, and at reasonable price points. Among their staple meals is the Kimberly’s Fried Chicken (Php 285). If you could request for the special mushroom sauce not listed on their menu, please do. You won’t regret it! Fairing a close second are the Sizzling Pork Sisig (Php 190) and the Spicy Squid Oyster Sauce (Php 280), which is basically strips of squid sautéed in finger chillies, bell peppers, onions and oyster sauce. Also, try not to miss the yummy Pinaket with lechon kawali (Php 250).
5. The Rooms and Service
Now what is a hotel without its comfortable rooms and wonderful staff? While there’s nothing extremely special about their room designs at this point (renovations are under way, as we speak), their rooms are expectedly comfortable and well-maintained. They have a total of 50 spacious guest-rooms, 17 Superior and 15 Deluxe Rooms, 17 Premiere rooms and 1 Suite.

As for their staffs, they are hands down accommodating. This meaning that even when the kitchen’s already closed pass 10 in the evening and you happen to crave for that midnight snack, they see to it that they can get you what you need, even if it’s just Coco Krunch at 1 in the morning (like we did)!
6. Amenities
For those who couldn’t pass up on the chance to go for a swim, they have 2 pools – a children’s wading pool and an adult swimming pool. They also have an obstacle course and wide open spaces for team-building activities, game room with gym equipment, table tennis, darts, billiards and air hockey. This being a hotel designed for the kids, outdoor playground, badminton and volleyball area are also not to be missed.
7. Other Recreational Activities

On certain weekends (assumably when there’s a high number of kids visitors), film-showing are available after dinner. The night my friends and I went, Shrek was showing! Kids love these kinds of activities and it’s great to keep exposing them to the great outdoors! Visit Tagaytay soon and stay at The Hotel Kimberly! (check rates)
