SOCCSKSARGEN (SOX): A Land of Bounty
“SOCCSKSARGEN (SOX) is a region that preserves culture, also a region that protects eco-tourism sites, and the hospitality of the people is very much present,” RD of DOT 12 Nelly Dillera shared in an earlier press conference.
By means of the Treasures of SOX: A Travel and Trade Expo, it greatly display SOX as a land of bounty by showcasing its unspoiled tourist spots, food items, souvenirs and much more.
Interestingly, records showed that in 2012 there were 296,247 tourist arrivals in SOX but in 2015 it augmented to 3,157,961 tourist arrivals being General Santos City to be the highest at 1,204,459 arrivals.
Enough of all the negative and false impressions on SOX and be inspired since the paradise is now open.

SOX is also a home of producers and exporters here in the Philippines. Since the expo is promoting the fresh and processed food products of SOX, here are a few of them that caught my attention.

Culture
From the wonderful performances of the Koronadal City Street Dance Group, it clearly manifested the preserved culture of the T’Boli tribe, Maguindanawon tribe, and the B’laan tribe. Aside from that, the T’nalak of the T’Boli was also displayed.
“The people are not wearing costume, it’s a way of life,” said Nelly Dillera.
