If you look back at history of Mecca tourism, it was the governance of a royal family in Saudi that handled the annual temporary migrations. Later on, in the year 1979, when it was found by some dissidents that this particular royal Saudi family was not at all adhering to the rules of Islam in its pure form, efforts were made by them to get Saudi family overthrown and the Kaaba seized. Restoration of the kaaba took place only after terrible bloodshed that followed.

It is for the sanctity of the land that Mecca religious tourism and culture thrives. The land is extremely rich and the city is respected by Muslims the world over. The history of Mecca is as simple as it is intriguing. This holy place is considered to be the heart of the Muslim community all over the world and attracts thousands of tourists by the day. It is well located along Saudi Arabia’s western coast and from Jeddah it is just at a forty five minute drive.
