Where is Sohoton Cave?

Sohoton Cave is located in Eastern Samar, in the town of Basey. It is known for being a natural archaeological site where several limestone formations and stones are found sitting inside caverns and caves. But aside from being a natural attraction, it was previously used as a hideout during the American invasion of the Philippines. Characterized by cathedral-like arches, the Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge have a stone bridge connecting the Panhulugan Cave I and Panhulugan Cave II.

Aside from the caves, there’s much more to see here, such as rivers, limestone formations, stone bridges, lagoons, and caverns. It’s a relaxing adventure without having to worry about not being physically fit. Anyone can definitely enjoy its beginner-friendly activities!

As you explore the caves, you’ll be impressed at the various stalactites and stalagmites you’ll see on your tour. Just be careful not to touch these so as not to destroy the beauty of the place. Deep into the caves, you can even hear stalactites produce a piano-like tune when it’s more silent! You’ll also be imaginative as some limestone formations form an image from animal shapes to iconic world attractions.
