RCBC, Visa, and RCBC Bankard recently held an event at the posh Hilton Manila in Newport City. The event unveiled the new RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum, and it’s made for the frequent travelers in mind.

We are genuinely excited about this card, since this, we believe, is best among the other credit cards that offer travel perks. Here’s why.

Apart from the usual credit card privileges like travel perks, dining promos, and entertainment options, RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum converts your purchases into airmiles for a multitude of airlines, not just one.
Every Php25 spent abroad or Php45 spent locally will earn you one (1) preferred airmile, which is equivalent to one airmile to an airline of your choice – Asiamiles, Air Asia BIG Points, Cebu Pacific Get Go, or PAL Mabuhay Miles. That’s a lot of choices, to be sure.
A previous card we covered only earned miles for one airline, not a good thing for jet-setters who want flexibility of choice for their traveling.
Also announced in the event – new RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum cardholders will get a welcome gift. You choose: a PHP 5000 worth of travel credits, a Php 5,000 worth of electronic gift voucher, or 6,000 Preferred Airmiles.

Speaking of rewarding experiences, we have to mention how RCBC spoiled media guests who attended the RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum unveiling event.

Apart from dining on a sumptuous buffet at the Hilton Manila, and being wowed with performances by the Sindaw flamenco dancers and song numbers by Franco Laurel and the Manilla Philharmonic Quartet, the press was also chauffeured to the hotel in a fleet of luxury cars – to experience the high life envisioned by RCBC for their customers.
Lucky enough, we rode in a two-door Maserati. Other media colleagues were driven to the hotel in hummers, limousines, and other rare cars.

Back to the card. Dan Wolbert, Visa Country Manager for the Philippines also added his two cents regarding their newest product. “We are extremely excited to partner with RCBC and RCBC Bankard to launch the RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum card for Filipino travelers. Our data shows that travel is one of the top category spend by Visa Filipino cardholders, and hence, it is natural for us to create a product that is tailored to the needs of jet-setters in the country.”
Wolbert then described how, with the new RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum, cardholders can enjoy travel-related perks like airport lounges access, travel insurance, and dining and travel privileges thru the Visa epic Experience platform.

Additionally, cardholders can avail of the Visa Digital Concierge, which enables them to make dining, leisure, and travel bookings thru real-time chat from a dedicated assistant.
The event was capped off with a message by the RCBC President and CEO himself, Eugene Acevedo. “The RCBC Bankard credit card is one of the products and services that make RCBC relatable to its customers. RCBC Bankard has put RCBC at the forefront in the minds of customers, creating connections and experiences that they can enjoy.”
