Known for its beautiful beaches, underground caves, dramatic cliffs, and laid-back island atmosphere, Camotes has become a favorite destination for travelers looking for a quieter side of Cebu. But beyond its appeal as a tropical getaway, the island is also home to families, students, entrepreneurs, and businesses whose daily lives increasingly depend on reliable internet access.

The arrival of PLDT Home fiber internet in Camotes Island aims to give these communities greater access to the digital tools and services that have become part of modern everyday life.

More Than Just Faster Internet

For many travelers, Camotes Island is synonymous with slow mornings, beach days, island-hopping adventures, and escaping the pace of the city. For residents, however, staying connected can be essential for work, school, business, communication, and access to services.

PLDT Home’s network expansion seeks to address this growing need by extending fiber connectivity to communities outside major urban centers.

“Expanding into Camotes Island is about more than extending our network footprint. It is about helping close a connectivity gap that can limit access to opportunities,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr., Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of PLDT Inc.

“By bringing reliable fiber connectivity to island communities, PLDT Home is providing families with the digital infrastructure they need to participate more fully in today’s digital economy.”

The expansion forms part of PLDT’s continuing efforts to extend reliable broadband connectivity to more Filipino communities and help bridge the country’s digital divide.

PLDT Home Fiber Unli All 1499 Now Available

Households in San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela can now inquire about the PLDT Home Fiber Unli All 1499 plan, which offers unlimited fiber internet with speeds of up to 200 Mbps.

The plan is designed to combine internet, entertainment, home communication, and mobile connectivity in one package.

Subscribers get access to:

  • Unlimited fiber internet with speeds of up to 200 Mbps
  • 63 Cignal channels
  • HBO Max Standard
  • Unlimited landline-to-landline calls
  • Landline-to-mobile calls to five nominated Smart or TNT numbers
  • 9GB of Smart mobile data every month

The 9GB Smart mobile data allocation can also be shared with up to three nominated Smart or TNT numbers, extending the plan’s connectivity beyond the home.

For families with several connected devices and household members who need mobile data while on the go, the combination provides additional flexibility for staying online.

How Better Internet Can Benefit Camotes Families

Reliable broadband connectivity can make a meaningful difference in communities where digital access is becoming increasingly important.

For students, a dependable home connection can provide easier access to educational resources, online research, digital learning platforms, and other information.

For working professionals, internet connectivity can support remote work, video calls, online collaboration, and communication with colleagues and clients off-island.

Families can also use broadband services to access online banking, e-commerce platforms, government services, telehealth resources, and communication tools.

For entrepreneurs, the possibilities can be even broader.

Home-based businesses and small enterprises can use the internet to promote products on social media, communicate with customers, process online transactions, and reach potential buyers beyond Camotes Island.

A Boost for Camotes Island Tourism

Connectivity is also increasingly important to the island’s tourism economy.

Camotes Island has built a reputation for its white-sand beaches, caves, cliffs, and outdoor attractions, drawing visitors who want an alternative to busier destinations.

As more travelers discover the island, reliable internet can help local tourism businesses maintain an online presence and connect with potential visitors.

Hotels, resorts, restaurants, tour operators, transportation providers, souvenir sellers, and other local businesses can use digital platforms to promote their services and communicate with customers.

Better connectivity can therefore support not only households but also the island’s growing tourism and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Connecting San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela

To bring the new fiber services closer to residents, PLDT Home is working with local government units and community partners in San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela.

Information booths and community activities are being conducted at key locations, including the Agora Public Market in San Francisco, the RBC Business Center near Poro Port, and an area beside the Tudela Municipal Hall.

These community activities give residents an opportunity to learn more about PLDT Home’s fiber offerings and inquire about service availability in their neighborhoods.

PLDT Home is also working with local agents and partners to assist households interested in applying for fiber connectivity.

What the Expansion Means for Camotes

The arrival of fiber internet represents another important development for an island community that is balancing its traditional laid-back lifestyle with a growing digital economy.

For residents, better connectivity can mean easier access to education, work, communication, entertainment, and essential online services.

For entrepreneurs, it can create more opportunities to reach customers and markets outside the island.

And for the tourism industry, it can provide local businesses with additional tools to showcase the attractions and experiences that make Camotes Island, Cebu, a popular destination.

As connectivity becomes an increasingly important part of everyday life, expanding broadband infrastructure to communities such as Camotes can help ensure that opportunities created by the digital economy are not limited to major cities.

How to Get PLDT Fiber in Camotes Island

Residents of San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela interested in the new PLDT Home fiber service can visit PLDT Home booths and authorized local representatives in their respective municipalities.

Interested households can inquire about the Fiber Unli All 1499 plan and check whether their specific residential area is within the service coverage area.

For Camotes Island, the expansion is about more than bringing faster internet into homes. It is another step toward connecting island families and businesses with opportunities that increasingly exist online—from education and employment to entrepreneurship, communication, and tourism.
