In time for Father’s Day, Jollibee, Philippines’ top fastfood chain launched a new TV commercial (TVC) specially dedicated to fathers across the globe.

The two-minute TVC, dubbed as “Entrance Exam,” is the newest addition to the popular food chain’s Kuwentong Jollibee series. It tackles a heartwarming father-and-son story, wherein a go-getter and successful father wants his son to achieve what he has achieved.

The commercial will feature how the son perseveres to fulfil his father’s dream for him, and an unusual twist that will showcase how love and acceptance can win over expectations and excellence.

Lanco dela Cruz directed “Entrance Exam,” along with other Kwentong Jollibee stories like “Jabee,” “Mama’s Girl,” “Almusal,” and “Tagpuan.”

For several years now, the Kwentong Jollibee series continues to feature Filipinos’ touching stories of joy, success, failure, and survival. Each story shows how the popular fastfood chain has become part of it.

The campaign started February this year, featuring three uplifting real stories of Filipinos who are long-time customers of Jollibee; and a compilation of stories presented by the fastfood chain’s restaurant manager for over 20 years now.

#KwentongJollibee mirrors the story of Filipinos, not only in the Philippines but also around the world—while also showcasing how the popular fastfood chain has become part of each and every story.

According to Francis Flores, Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer, it is a representation of the Filipinos’ “long standing love affair with Jollibee.”

“We believe that everyone has a Jollibee story to share. And through KwentongJollibee, we want to creatively capture  the universal Filipino experience, anchored on the things we love—our families, friends, communities, that somehow also make up our favorite Jollibee memories while growing up,” he said.

You can watch the tear-jerking TVC over and over again on YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/jollibeedigital1) and on the official Facebook Page of Jollibee (https://www.facebook.com/JollibeePhilippines/videos/1124709530908605/). The video reminds everyone to make it a habit to thank Tatay, Dad, Papa, or whatever name you call the most important man in your life—who doesn’t get tired of loving us unconditionally—and accept all our flaws and encourage us to bounce back from any obstacle.

Indeed, this timely TVC brings an inspiring message to all Filipino children around the world to value the role of their father in their lives. Kwentong Jollibee series is a great project that aims to use media to spread heartwarming messages to everyone.
