Pacsafe Metrosafe LS450 Anti-Theft 25L Backpack Review
Traveling to anywhere in this beautiful world requires a lot of preparation. I have been traveling for about two decades now. Although I have traveled for countless times now, I never let my guard down when it comes to preparing: packing my things, charging my phone battery, and preparing travel documents. I also never let my guard down whenever I travel, especially during my lone walking tours. In times of danger, everyone’s vulnerable, so I make extra sure that I’m traveling in the safest way I can.
But as a frequent traveler, I have had my fair share of horrors. I experienced losing my passport, my money, and even my travel documents in a foreign land—that’s the worse travel experience I’ve ever had. That is why I make extra caution when it comes to preparing for the safety of my valuables whenever I travel. That is also why when it comes to things like this, I become especially choosy when it comes to deciding what travel bag to buy. I have tried several brands of bags, and even if they all passed my standards, I still feel like they’re lacking somehow.
I recently got my own Pacsafe Metrosafe LS450 Anti-Theft 25L backpack. I found it as I was incidentally shopping for a new travel bag. It was a nice coincidence. Now I’m using it as my permanent travel companion for my lone daytrips when I roam around the Metro to hunt for coffee shops where I can work with my laptop.
Although most travelers would prefer otherwise, I always travel heavy. Not heavy in the sense of being a burden, but I always travel with lots of things. I always bring with me my mirrorless camera, power banks, gadget chargers, laptop, travel planner, a small water bottle, and many other travel accessories. What I like about my new Pacsafe Metrosafe, however, is that it is the only bag that gave me the best comfort. It’s made with lightweight material, so, although I have so many stuff packed in my bag, it doesn’t feel as heavy as my other travel bags.
Since my smartphone’s LTE is always on, my battery gets drained faster, and I always bring at least two power banks with me (I’m serious!). It’s a good thing that this bag has two stretchable pockets in both sides, which provide me an accessible compartment for my power banks, chargers, cables, and even my water bottle.
The laptop compartment is also the best. It has a soft pad that gives my laptop a snug fit. It can fit 13-15 inch laptops too.
But aside from its lightweight material, what I like the most about my new bag is its several enhanced anti-theft features, which include a smart zipper, and RFID-blocking pocket. I already have an RFID-blocking travel planner, but with the added protection of my Pacsafe Metrosafe, I feel an added security especially for my travel documents!
I also got a Pacsafe RFID-safe V100 Bi-fold wallet. (Ha! How’s that for anti-theft? I have three layers of protection!) RFID-blocking fibers are woven into the lining of both my bi-fold wallet and my bag, which amazingly doesn’t compensate the overall weight of this bag.
Another security feature of this bag is the LockaboutTM security hook, a hidden hook that secures my bag even without having the old-school combination zipper lock. Other security features (yes, there are a lot more) include: Lockabout™ security clip, Carrysafe® Slashguard Straps, eXomesh® Slashguard, RFIDsafe™ Blocking Pockets & Material, Smart Zipper Security, Turn & Lock Security Hooks.
And aside from my bag’s several layers of security features, it also has a sleek design—perfect for any traveler. It has 3 compartments suitable for my laptop, wallets and planners, and smaller pockets intended for smartphones. The padded shoulder straps also reduces any back pains, even if you decide to travel heavy just like me!
I highly recommend Pacsafe Metrosafe. It’s lightweight, sleek, has lots of pockets, and has enhanced security features. I am so glad that I was able to see this incidentally. I wish I was able to spot it sooner, though.
This new bag of mine is surely more than just a travel companion—it’s part of me now!
