Hotel Review of Hue Hotel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan
There is no other place in our country which makes my heart flutter, the way I experienced Palawan 2 years ago.
And just in case you missed it, the Puerto Princesa Airport is now Puerto Princesa International Airport, and was inaugurated on May 2017. It serves airport services from Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Cebgo, and Air Asia.
Palawan just kept on surprising its tourist from restaurants, exciting activities, and hotels as well. This includes the newly-opened hotel in the heart of Puerto Princesa- the Hue Hotel (hotel info).
The HUE-nique Experience in Palawan
Now let me share you my experience staying at the chic and newest hotel in Puerto Princesa, which I might also share, is conveniently located few minutes away from the airport and shopping centres.
We have arrived in Puerto Princesa past 8 in the evening, and were fetched by vans, care of the Hue Hotel. We were then greeted by Hue Hotel’s welcome committee with folk dances, setting everyone on the right mood. They even gave us some welcome drinks and towels.
The moment we step foot on the hotel was a different kind of experience – as uniquely embellished interiors like artificial plant murals, and patterns – permeates in each corner of the hotel making it visually appealing to staying guests, thus the name Hue.
Hue Hotel has changed the hotel landscape scene by turning its establishment into a stylish, chic, and vibrant hotel. This includes its 122-room which takes pride in its design forward and culturally rooted architecture.
Hue Hotel’s Vibrant Rooms
Hue has 3 types of rooms from Deluxe, Suite, and Family Room. Its in-room amenities include a cabled TV, hair dryer, safety deposit box, a complimentary bottled water, which by the way is impressively packaged. There’s also a coffee and tea making facilities, and a high speed internet service.
Personally, there are plenty of decent hotels in Puerto Princesa but Hue Hotel’s room interiors are definitely on point. Me and my roommate stayed in a 25 sqm Deluxe Room and we’re both awed how maximized the space is, with the closed-off shower and toilet, huge mirror beside the closet, and our huge comfy beds with 2 pillows each and a color-drenched smaller pillow for accents.
Best part? The complimentary banana chips, Maibanana. Everyone was talking about it during our entire stay at the hotel by the way. It ranges of flavors from Sea Salt and Sour & Cream.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel also takes pride on their roof-deck swimming pool designed with modern-art geometric shapes, surrounded with built-in benches and couches around the place.
Speaking of benches and couches, the hotel’s lobby is surrounded with awe-inspiring colorful ones in different colored fabrics. Plus! There a huge giant chess set at the back part of the stairs, in case you’re waiting for your check-in.
Not only that, Hue houses a venue perfect for conferences, meetings, and special occasions. Even its interior is well-thought of with elegance in mind, and more accents to set the mood on.
They also have a fitness center, a spa, and an all-day dining restaurant. Other services include travel and tour assistance where you can choose to visit Palawan’s point of interests.
Matiz Tapas Bar and Restaurant
During our first night in the hotel, we were invited to dine at Matiz Tapas Bar and Restaurant located at the first floor of the restaurant. What’s interesting though, is that its door adjacent to the front desk, is more like a sliding barn door leading you to the restaurant.
Matiz intrior is a vintage industrial designed restaurant, which includes concrete flooring, wooden chairs and tables, hanging tables, and modern pendant lights adding accents on the restaurant. They feature classic recipes from Spain, America, Vietnam, and most especially the Philippines.
Such dishes which were served that night were the Chicken Iberico with Mojo Sauce – the absolute star of the night. There’s also the perfectly cooked Matiz Paella, Ropa Vieja, and their uniquely made leche flan called the Tres Leches Flan, which has salted egg in the middle.
The night was young and everyone got some red wine, and even heard some live performances from invited singers as well.
Before we headed at the upcoming activities on the second and third day, we get to experience their Breakfast Buffet wherein plethora of delightful menu choices from tinapa, sausage, giniling, tapa, were served on the main table. There’s also a coffee, bread, and cereal section at one corner of the restaurant.
So if you still haven’t decided yet where to stay on your next Palawan trip, then HUE is the place to be. Book Online via Agoda.
