How to tour around Washington DC in just one day
If you are planning a visit to The United States Capital, which is Washington DC, for short, then this following article will help to cover the main attraction of Capital in just a DAY. Yes, you read it well. Just a day is enough. This is how I planned my trip to Washington DC when I visited the US capital for a day.

I visited the country in May, where the sunset is usually after 8 pm. This helped me have enough sunlight to see the city.
Make sure you wake up early in the morning and be ready to reach the Union station from your hotel or residence, so you have enough time to cover the city.

Reach Union Station at 9 am from where you will get a big bus tour for the city. The first bus starts at 10am and the last time is 6 pm.

At Union Station, you will find the counter of big bus tours, so get your tickets first before you start. Union Station itself is a great architectural site for one to see. You can surely spend up to an hour visiting the whole station from In and out and clicking some beautiful pictures for your memory. You can also grab something to eat from the station before you start the tour.
Take a bus at 10 am and start with your guided tour. I advise you to get down at Capitol and visit Capitol and national library, which will take you around 2 hours depending on the queue.
At 12 pm, you can again take a bus and continue with a guided tour and this time, get down at Thomas Jefferson memorial. Don’t waste much time as there is just a statue. So give a glance, click some photos, and that’s it.

Instead of taking the bus, walk down towards Lincoln memorial as there is a straight path, and you will save time instead of waiting for the bus. In between, you can also visit the Martin Luther memorial, Korean War, and World War 2 memorial. Again just a monument and statue, so give a glance, click some photos, and out. You can also visit the Einstein memorial if you like, which is just adjacent to the park.

You should have covered all this by 3 pm. Now take a big blue line bus and just relax for one hour on the bus while they take you round to Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Macy’s. There is no need to get down as there is nothing much and you can have a good view even from the top of the bus and click a few pictures.
By 4, return to the smithsonite museum. There are 3-4 museums in the lane. I advise you to choose one according to your preference to save time.

Complete this in an hour by 5 and just walk towards the Washington monument. See the beauty of this monument and learn the history behind it.
By 6-6.30 reach White House, which can be accessible by walking and not that far.

Now enjoy yourself and click beautiful photos in and around the White House till sunset.
There are many beautiful buildings, and the whole area is just awesome. One can have some good time, especially those who love great architecture and have a passion for photography.
Yes, of course, you can visit some more places and spend some more at the places listed above but only when you have 2-3 days. Where in you can visit this city with leisure and live the vibe of the capital.

If you follow my above guidelines, then I am sure you will complete the city’s main things as we did.
