Hotel Review: Alila Seminyak Bali
Bali is, without a doubt, the most popular island in Indonesia. The mere mention of this name brings to mind endless numbers or resorts and villas! One such villa is the Alila Seminyak.
The word Alila, mean “surprise” in Sanskrit, which is aptly named for the hotel for its visibly fresh concept of luxury. From its minimalist design, suggestive of sustainability, and its other features that reflect a way of artisanal living, this place exudes elegance and comfort in the midst of breathtaking scenery.
Along with 39 other travel bloggers from Southeast Asia for the Trip of Wonders, I had the pleasure of experiencing this place on a good day! While several of us only had a few hours to truly relax here (since we had a flight to catch on the same day of our arrival from a series of island hopping in Labuan Bajo), I would still recommend checking this place out for yourself on your next trip in Bali and here is why!

We arrived here shortly after lunch and were immediately greeted by refreshing drinks and various complimentary vanity products to freshen up. The open air lobby caught the ocean breeze and pointed us directly towards the infinity pools as well as the ocean!
Located along the stretch of the Seminyak beach and right next to Potato Head Beach Club, this luxury resort finds itself in a peaceful setting. Albeit being within close proximity to the night life and being filled with beachbars within the resort, it is impressive how you could still feel like you’ve stepped into a tranquil of oasis.

This 2-year-old resort has 240 rooms with outdoor pools, a spa, a restaurant, a fitness center and other exceptional facilities. And the best part is you have direct access to the beach, allowing you front row seats to what, I would say, has one of the best sunset views!

served at the patios and lounge around in bean bags as you lie down for a good read and catch the ocean breeze.

My accommodation came in the form of a deluxe room, which is situated on a wing of the resort that is closer to the city. Even then it was already more than big enough for myself. This came with a spacious bathroom with a rain shower, a walk-in closet, a huge flat screen TV. Plus, this was my view from my balcony!

The next time I head to Bali, I won’t have second thoughts of coming back here to finally experience this place in its full glory. In the few hours that I was here, I’ve tasted its food, walked through its grounds, observing its eco-friendly designs, its inviting hallways, its spacious rooms with the suiting sound of the ocean. Everything felt like they were at my disposal. You can literally spend one entire day here and not feel like you’re missing out on anything outside (although of course, you would want to explore)! If you have the luxury of time, however, then doing so is highly recommended!
