Sooo Pinoy Food Tour Day 2 in Davao City – Previous Post – D’Leonor Hotel’s Fiesta Lapu Lapu – Sooo Pinoy Davao Food Trip
It was already my second day in Davao and since I came directly from Malaysia for a week of non-stop backpacking, I really felt that my body was already giving up. To prepare myself for the next few days of food tripping, I decided skip to restaurants (The Ritz Hotel and E.Y’s Tuna) and join the team for dinner at Flyover Ihaw-Ihaw in Buhangin road.
Beef Bulalo
Flyover Ihaw-ihaw is a famous restaurant in Davao for its affordable and delicious Pork and Chicken Barbeque. Aside from its regular grilled seafood, pork and chicken, they also have a frozen selection of seafood that you can order and have it cooked your way.
Grilled Bihod
This restaurant now has a branch near Matina Water District and in J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada. Just like their main branch in Buhangin, this restaurant is usually crowded at night.
Grilled Chicken
They first served Bulalo Soup then followed by Sizzling Bagaybay – Tuna’s gonads cut into small pieces and served in a sizzling plate with a special sauce. If you are a local Davaoeno, you are probably familiar with Bihod – fish’s eggs that is normally grilled when you order it in local restaurants.
Pork Barbeque
Similar to Chicken Inasal of Bacolod, their Chicken Barbeque is also cooked in bamboo skewers and cooked with a special barbeque sauce. Although their Pork Barbeque has too much fat in it, I really like its taste and you can tell that its freshly grilled.
Sizzling Bagaybay
Their Kare-Kare is also good, unlike the usual Kare-Kare I’ve tasted, I like their not to sweet sauce and their home cooked bagoong (shrimp paste) is truly my favorite.
Sizzling Seafood
The last food served was their version of Sizzling Seafood – a mixture of prawns, squid and mussles served in a sizzling plate.
