Cruising Romblon: An 8 Day Adventure Trip

Cruising Romblon Islands

It was yet another challenge for this hiker as I went out of my element and into an inter-island hopping adventure with PHILTOA, DOT Region 4-B, the provincial office of Romblon, and 2GO Travel to endorse the archipelagic province of Romblon with its major islands: Sibuyan, Romblon, Tablas, and San Jose.

“Cruising Romblon” was an 8-day tour that used the extensive Roll on, Roll Off (RORO) inter-island connection. It’s an advanced screening of the travel packages PHILTOA will feature in the “Sale ng Bayan” during the 27th Philippine Travel Mart on September 02-04, 2016. Isn’t that exciting?

Considered to be the biggest staging of the Philippine Travel Mart, the 26th edition last September 2015 occupied a total of 3,351 sq.m. exhibitors’ area, with 370 booths participated in by 251 tourism-related establishments. Halls 1-4 of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City were once again the 26th Philippine Travel Mart 2016 venue.

I’ve seen the itinerary, and it is packed. How did we pull this off? We departed from Batangas port, making an overnight travel to the island of Sibuyan, and stayed there for 2 nights.

Then we’re off to R oblong Island and stay there overnight.

From there, we went to Tablas Island for 3 nights.

Finally, we went to Carabao Island, which is in San Jose.

After 8 days, 4 hotels or accommodations, and numerous meet-and-greets with the gracious and supportive local government officers, we had loads of fun, food, and culture. It is indeed a spectacular experience of the Islands of Romblon, and I would be remiss not to share these with you.
