As I boarded my Airphil Express flight for a short vacation in Boracay Island, I never imagined I would be bowled over by a hotel just as much as the experience and beauty of the place. When I landed at the airport, I discovered that the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel staff was already there to greet us complete with placards among other things.
Boracay Mandarin Resort
From the huge welcome card at the airport to the most comfortable boat and land transfers from the port to the resort, I know this Boracay trip will be different from my previous ones. It was a great beginning to an even greater stay. The room assigned to me was a Grand Deluxe Poolside Room just near the hotel lobby and beautifully located in front of the well maintained pool.
Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel
From the moment I unpacked my things inside my room, I expected nothing more than a comfortable stay, fully intending to take advantage of the Boracay Island intricacies. Located right in the center of White Beach Station 2, the hotel boasts of ultra-modern Filipino design flaunting luxury in a tropical setting. I had already looked up and found that the hotel offers rejuvenating spa treatments and interesting dining experiences providing the perfect island getaway.
En route to Boracay
The hotel is ideal if you want to be at the center of all the interesting attractions of the island such as White Beach, Mount Luho, Boracay Butterfly garden, Bat Caves, Kar-Tir Shell Museum, Boracay Beach Grotto, D’Mall and Puka Beach. The beachfront resort, which offers amazing views of the Sulu sea has family rooms, suites and penthouses along with modern amenities like TV, internet access and Spa if you want to relax after an adventure filled day.
Inside and Outside my Room
Apart from the amazing beach, the highlight of my visit was revealed to me when I inserted my key card to unlock the beautiful Grand Deluxe Poolside Room. I gauged now why the hotel boasted that the room was the most romantic ever. The king-sized canopy bed and the luxurious bathroom made me want to stay in the room forever. The elegant Filipino design had hints of Mediterranean touches to it.
Presidential Suite Room
The room also has a comfortable lounging area and a tatami bed. The bathroom made me swoon and for a moment I had wondered if I had walked into the adjacent room. I discovered that there are ten Grand Deluxe Poolside Rooms in the hotel, all facing the sea. With an area of 365 square metre, the room was but a few feet from the hotel pool. For those wanting a bigger water experience, the Worlds Best Beach is always a few steps away too.
A La Carte Meals
The Don Vito Ristorante Italiano, the in-house restaurant at the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel offers exquisite seafood cuisine. From Italian to Filipino and other International dishes, Don Vito Ristorante Italiano’ menu has an extensive choice of house specialties that is being replaced every other month for the satisfaction of local patrons.
On my second day, I had a three hour relaxing massage, body scrub and all natural facial cleansing at the resorts Mandarin Spa. True to its promise, the body scrub and body wrap was truly luxuruiously rich experience, things that i dont usually experience whenever I go to any spa. Dont worry about sunburn, they have body scrub treatments for any skin conditions. Forget about Shiatsu and Swedish, I discovered that “Hilot” massage is something that we can call our own and its equally relaxing too. All treatments are being done inside a cozy private balcony overlooking the world-renowned Boracay White Beach.
The rooms are a little bit costly specially during peak holiday seasons but even though its highly priced, your stay at the hotel will definitely well worth the money. Im so impressed with the well appointed room that I had to debate strongly between staying in the room all day and the occasional visits to the beach.
Swimming Pool at Night
To top it all, the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel staff offered excellent service taking genuine pleasure in serving the guests right from the food to little things like the artistically folded towels and small notes left with the fruit basket. While in the resort premises, I just felt like I was just being hosted by a huge family. Thanks to Ms. Lily – the resorts resident manager for making me feel that I’m part of the family. I really felt the sincerity and I must say that the overall service are truly world class, I really hope I can comeback really really soon… It just feels like home:)
It was one of the most unique and memorable stays that I have ever had in the island. People might argue that excellent amenities in a hotel are not so necessary when most of the time can be spend on the beach. But a stay at the Grand Deluxe Poolside Room of the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel has made me enjoy the advantages of getting the best of both worlds.
