We’ve found the best egg drop sandwich in the South – and you’ll be surprised their coffee tastes good too!
Team Out of Town Blog Hub (www.outoftownblog.com) – If you live in the South, and you ran out of “merienda” and brunch ideas, well, guess what?! Block 6 Café has finally landed in Santa Rosa to give us a taste of Seoul with their array of egg drop sandwiches and coffee blends.
Santa Rosa has a fair number of a food-loving populace that craves exciting finds around the area. Ever since the opening of the latest café, people have gone to social media and posted their take-outs and IG-worthy egg drops – see #block6cafe on Instagram.
And since we’re so curious about the rave, we ordered today and gave them a try.
Here are some reviews/experiences of the Block 6 Café’s customers we found online:

“Masarap siya. Hindi lang sa picture. Bacon kase inorder namin. Pati kape nila masarap. Maliligaw ka kang papunta kase mali yung nakapin na location. Pero mejo malapit lang din naman don sa pinned loc.”

“Food and coffee are incredible, tasty, and satisfying! Can’t wait to try other options from their menu.”
“I was surprised when I taste their egg drop. If I will compare it to restaurants that ive tried, this is the best. The bread quality is superb too that you can imagine how great it will be if you order french toast (which I will when I get back). Really recommend that you try this and hope you will have more branches.
This quaint shop located at Buena Rosa 5, Barangay Labas in Santa Rosa, Laguna, is the brainchild of Ms. Maria Riza Mabalod. She fondly shares her love for Korean Drama ’18 Again’ featuring Jung Da-jung (Kim Ha-neul) and Hong Dae-young (Yoon Sang-Hyun). Last year, their family started selling bottled fruit shakes and milk tea at their home and decided to create their version of egg drops last February.
After a successful run on its first month, Maria’s sisters and uncle decided to open and supervise their branch in Mandaluyong. It was an excellent move for Maria since no other online stores and restaurants in Santa Rosa were offering egg drops at the time. When asked if they’re planning to expand in the future, Maria shares they are looking into opening a pop-up store in Tagaytay, and hopefully, turning their business into a franchise.
In case you missed it, egg drop is a popular breakfast franchise in South Korea. It gained popularity on social media after getting a spotlight on the Korean drama ‘Hospital Playlist”. This comfort food is offered in multiple egg sandwiches with different fillings and sauces.
Here at Block 6 Café, you can choose different fillings like ham, bacon, spam, chicken katsu, mi goring, waffle maple, or a combination of waffle, bacon, and egg – with prices ranging from 90 to 150 pesos. Also, for someone who’s a huge spam fan, the Spam Egg Drop is a winner for me. It’s not too salty and not overpowering – has the right amount of servings, perfect for sharing too! On the other hand, the Bacon Egg drop is not only beautiful to look at – it was perfectly seasoned and was served hot. Talk about that paper picnic box it came with ~.
Of course, no meal is ever complete without having to try their cold coffee. For today, we tried the Caramel Macchiato and White Chocolate. The Caramel Macchiato has the right amount of caffeine kick and the perfect balance of sweet caramel and cream. Fair price and would definitely go for round 2 any time of the day.
There are also non-coffee options like Thai Milk Tea, Honey Citron Soda, Strawberry Soda, and Matcha. If you’d ask me, one egg drop plus your choice of cold drink can be a perfect gift for a food buddy out there. Plus! Leaving something delicious on someone’s doorstep is always a good idea.
Block 6 Café in Santa Rosa is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, and only until 7 pm in their Mandaluyong branch. For contactless pick-up/transaction, send your order form on their official Facebook page, choose your mode of payment (Paymaya, Gcash) then book your rider.
