President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III declared November 18 and 19, 2015, the dates set for Asia-Pacific Economic Conference’s (APEC) Economic Leader’s Meeting, as non-working holidays in Metro Manila.

This year’s APEC, with the theme “Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World” has the Republic of the Philippines as its host country.
APEC officially began on January 15 and 16 in Ha Noi, Vietnam. The first two days of APEC involved the Public-Private Dialogue on Identifying and Addressing Impediments to Improve a Business-Friendly Infrastructure Investment in the APEC Region. The first two days of APEC in the Philippines this year was last January 21 and 22, in Clark, and involved the Special Senior Finance Officials’ Meeting (SFOM). Other places in the country that hosted APEC meetings were Tagaytay and Boracay.
Several APEC conferences will be held within the country in the month of August, beginning on August 10-12 in Manila. APEC conferences High Level Policy Dialogue on Science and Technology in Higher Education, Capacity Building Workshops on Regulatory Impact Evaluation, and 2nd Business Ethics for Small & Medium Size Enterprises (SME) Forum will be held within August 13-20, all in Manila.

Four conferences will be held simultaneously on August 22-23 in Cebu: Anti-Corruption and Transparency (ACT) Plenary Meeting, APEC Experts Group on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade (AEGILAT), Intellectual Property Rights Experts Group (IPEG), and Sub Committee on Customs Procedures (SCCP) – APEC Workshop on Wildlife Trafficking – Related Custom Best Practices.
APEC 2015 in the Philippines
By August 25-17, even more conferences will be simultaneously held in Manila and in Cebu.
November 18 and 19, 2015, which will involve the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Manila, is the last event on APEC 2015’s schedule.
APEC Philippines 2015 is the year-long hosting of APEC meetings in the Philippines, which will culminate with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting from November 18 to 19, 2015 in Metro Manila.
