ZenFone 3, ZenBook 3 And Transformer 3 To Hit PH Shores In August
It is looking like August will be a busy month for ASUS as the Taiwan-based tech company announced that a new line of its gadgets will be in stores worldwide by August (yes, including the Philippines).
A report from Yuga Tech says that Jerry Shen, CEO of ASUSTeK Computer Inc., has confirmed in the company’s Taipei headquarters that ZenFone 3, ZenBook 3 and Transformer 3 series will be on sale next month. The statement of ASUS Philippines regarding the release in the Philippines also supports what Shen said, with ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra starting its sale at the same time as the ZenBook 3 and Transformer 3 convertible series.
All three variants of ZenFone will run in Android 6.01 or Android Marshmallow and will have microSD card slots which can support up to 256 GB of external storage. Its primary camera runs on 16 MP while its front camera is 8 MP, ideal for those who wish to capture those special moments during their travels. Its CPU is supported by Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 while its GPU uses Adreno 506.
The three ZenFone variants will be sold for $110 through $370 in the United States. While Philippine prices have not been released yet, based on historical data, it will be close to the United States price like its predecessors.
ZenBook 3, on the other hand, will be offered with RAM options that range from 4 GB to 16 GB, enough to store those pictures and videos from your trips. A ZenBook 3 device will be powered by either with i5 or i7 processors and will have a 12-inch display.
The Transformer 3, in the meantime, was first announced at the start of ASUS’ Computex 2016 pre-show conference. It is a 2-in-1 PC, is only 6.9 mm (0.27 inches) thick and weights 695 grams (1.5 lbs). It can last up to nine hours with its battery and has an 8 GB RAM. It comes fitted with a series of seventh generation Intel processors, has 512 GB SSD storage and is comparable with Surface 3 with rival tech company Microsoft. Transformer 3 will also be crammed with Harmon Kardon speakers which will be built into the device with a 12.6-inch display. Transformer 3 will be offered in stores for $799 while Transformer 3 Pro’s base model will sell for $999 in the United States. We have yet to hear, though, as to how much the device will be priced the moment it lands in the Philippines.
ASUSTek Computer Inc. Chairman Jonney Shih previously told Trusted Reviews in October last year that the company will be releasing seven ZenFones by August 2016. There has been no word so far on the other four smartphones Shih is referring to.
In any case, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as soon as new details about these hotly anticipated phones will be announced.
