The Villa Angela Heritage House is a nice place to stay but I guess this type of accommodation is not for everyone. Some people really like a spare, modern, and plain hotel room to come back to when they’re on vacation.
Villa Angela Ancestral House
But for people like me, the Villa Angela Heritage House is like staying in a beloved family member’s home. The house itself is an old mansion, the perfect type of place to stay when you’re visiting Vigan. It is family owned and operated and the house has been carefully and lovingly restored. You get the feeling that each detail was selected with care.

While the place has its upsides and downsides, the fact is that you can’t get a better deal in Vigan. The prices for even the big, six person rooms are incredibly reasonable. And when you walk in, you’re not going to see a cheap hotel, you’ll have a unique and friendly experience in a historical building.

Some even say there are ghosts, but so far none of the ghost stories sound even a little bit plausible. I never felt afraid. If there are ghosts, they’re the ghosts of Spanish grandmas who want to cook you the best breakfast you’ve ever had.

I might be a bit less enthusiastic about the Villa Angela if it was in another part of town, but you can’t do much better than this as far as location goes. Everything you might want to see in Vigan is easy to get to from the Villa Angela House. The neighborhood is friendly and easy to navigate, and there’s even parking available in their gated parking area. And while it’s close to the center, it’s not so close that you hear every single noise. In fact, it’s surprisingly quiet here. Maybe it’s the old, solid walls of the place.
Villa Angela Living Room
Breakfast is great, but the coffee is a bit weak (instant). Otherwise, it was really lovely to dine in the old dining room. There are air conditioners, which can be kind of noisy, as well as mosquito nets in case the mosquitos come buzzing around. If you get a room with a veranda, you’ll have a nice view onto the street.
Villa Angela Biggest Room
As I’ve said before, the staff can always make or break a place for me. At the Villa Angela Heritage House everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. Its like you are living in a huge palace with your own majordomo who will take care of everything you need. You can’t do better, really. They can help you to find local tours and trips as well as local attractions. All you have to do is ask and you’ll get what you need.
The real benefit of staying here is the history around you. When you stay at the Villa Angela Heritage House, you’re experiencing first hand what the Spanish Era could have been like, except that you’ve got modern conveniences like a wi-fi connection. Because of the pictures on the walls and the staff, who are all well informed, you will feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
If you want to be welcomed into a full-service home-style bed and breakfast, stay at the Villa Angela Heritage House when you go to Vigan. Promise, you will not regret it!
